One of my absolute favorite things to do at Epcot, and the Walt Disney Resort in general, is to take a nice stroll through World Showcase enjoying some adult beverages. There are so many different options to choose from – how do you know which drinks are best? Read on to discover some new favorites!
Working our way clockwise around the World Showcase, let’s start with the amazing margaritas that can be found in the Mexico Pavilion. If you only follow ONE tip from this entire article, let it be this one. DO NOT get a margarita from the perfectly acceptable stand that is outside of the pavilion on the main walkway. You MUST go inside to check out the spectacular La Cava del Tequila. The lines here are long for a reason! The quality and variety of tequilas and margaritas are unmatched. Looking for something a little sweet? Try the Blood Orange Margarita. Prefer a little spice in your life? You will not be disappointed by the Jalapeno Margarita. Each comes with a really interesting salt rim that you will want to be sure to check out.
Be sure to stop at the Germany pavilion to sample some authentic German beer, or even better, book a reservation at the amazing Biergarten restaurant where it is Oktoberfest all year long. They offer a variety of delicious, authentic German beers. I recommend the beer flights, but choosing one and going for the full liter beer stein makes for an epic photo opportunity.
Once you have made your way to Italy, be sure to make a stop at the Enoteca Castello. Offering a variety of delicious Italian wines by the glass, I highly recommend choosing a crisp and bubbly prosecco to enjoy as you continue your wander through the World Showcase.
Looking for something really unique to try? Be sure to stop at the Japan pavilion for some sake. Hidden away in the back corner of the fantastic Mitsukoshi department store is a very small sake bar. The bar offers a variety of different sakes and you will be amazed by the wide variety of options.
If you are wandering through World Showcase on a hot day, my next suggestion is a can’t miss. Who am I kidding – even if it isn’t hot out, you won’t want to miss out on trying one of the alcoholic slush drinks at the France Pavilion. Offered in two flavors, the Grey Goose Citron Slush and the Grand Marnier Slush are both so delicious and super refreshing! If you are visiting with a friend, I highly recommend each choosing a different one and sharing a taste.
It would be remiss not to mention that there is also a wide variety of real French champagne to be found in the France Pavilion. Head back to Les Maison du Vin to make your selection, and then be sure to relax for a bit and really enjoy this spectacular beverage.
Last but not least, don’t miss a chance to stop in at the Rose & Crown pub in the United Kingdom Pavilion. They have a wide variety of true English beers and ciders. I am a big fan of the Strongbow Cider, but my husband prefers to stick with the classic Guinness.
There are really so many fantastic options to enjoy an afternoon or evening in World Showcase. Be sure to keep your adventurous spirit at the forefront and try something new the next time you go. Also, make sure to drink your water and stay hydrated while you do it.
