Best Spots to Escape the Heat at Disney World
The summer weather is here and that means it’s getting hot and humid in Florida! If you’re at Disney World you’ll want to know where to escape the heat. Take a look at the best spots in each park to get away from the hot and humid weather!

Epcot
Epcot is a large park but luckily, it has multiple air conditioned spots that are perfect to escape the heat! One of our favorites is The Seas Pavilion. After riding The Seas with Nemo and Friends, take some time to enjoy the AC and explore the amazing aquariums!
World Showcase is a must-do while at Epcot but it’s a large portion of the park with lots of walking. Many of the countries offer indoor films that are a great way to learn about the country while cooling off. China, France, and Canada all have films and America has “The American Adventure” show. A few countries, like Mexico, France and Norway, also have rides where you can cool off for a bit.
Also, be sure to take a break in the Land Pavilion. Grab a bite to eat, learn how Disney grows some of the food they serve on Living with the Land, or view different parts of the world from the sky on Soarin’ Around the World.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom doesn’t offer many spots to escape the heat. The park focuses a lot on the animals and most of the offerings are outside.
The park does, however, feature multiple indoor shows that provide a great break from the sun! Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue & Beyond, and It’s Tough to be a Bug are all entertaining shows that are great to watch when it’s hottest out.
There are also some fun rides that are great to cool off on. If you can grab a Lightning Lane for Dinosaur or Na’vi River Journey in the afternoon, both are dark, cool rides. Or, if you want to get wet to cool off, take a ride on Kali River Rapids!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also a tough park to find air conditioning in. Multiple shows are outside, so while you are covered from the sun, it’s not necessarily the coolest spot.
There are a couple of shows that are indoors and provide refreshing AC: For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along, Lightning McQueen Racing Academy, and Muppet Vision 3D all provide a nice escape from the heat.
There are some awesome indoor rides as well but a lot of the queues are outside in the heat. If you can use Genie+ to snag Lightning Lanes for those rides, we highly recommend you do that! That’ll keep you out of the sun and in the AC more.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is a large park full of lots of options for getting out of the sun and heat!
Some wonderful shows and attractions that provide an escape are Enchanted Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, Mickey’s Philharmagic, Carousel of Progress and County Bear Jamboree.
Dark rides are another great way to enjoy a cool break. Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Haunted Mansion are all wonderful dark rides. Be sure to use Genie+ for these rides if you purchased the service!
