They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that is definitely true when you’re getting ready to conquer the Disneyland Resort! Whether you prefer a character meal to start the day or just a great place to grab a bite, I’ve put together the best breakfasts at Disneyland for you.
For character breakfasts, check out Goofy’s Kitchen and/or Plaza Inn. Goofy’s Kitchen, which is located at the Disneyland Hotel, is a favorite of most guests. There is a breakfast buffet with 5 different stations to choose from including Mickey Mouse waffles and pancakes. And don’t forget to try Goofy’s specialty-peanut butter and jelly pizza! Characters vary but you’ll get to see many favorite Disney friends at this breakfast.
Plaza Inn inside Disneyland Park is another of my favorites for a character breakfast. The buffet includes made-to-order omelets, french toast, and Mickey Waffles among other yummy breakfast foods. I also loved how many characters we got to see at this breakfast. Regulars like Minnie Mouse and Pluto along with some not-so-regular characters like Goofy’s son Max and one of the mice from Cinderella.
There are a few non-character breakfast locations that are also really great. Carnation Cafe on Main St., Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland, and Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land. Carnation Cafe is a table service restaurant so you’ll want to make a reservation in advance. This restaurant offers fantastic breakfast classics like Eggs Benedict, Omelets, Mickey waffles, and delicious apple granola pancakes. It’s also a great place to people-watch!
Red Rose Taverne, formerly known as Village Haus, is located in Fantasyland and is a quick-service location. This Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant was originally temporary but it seems to be sticking around for good! There aren’t as many breakfast options but the few available are scrumptious! Beast’s Breakfast Burger and the Stuffed French Toast are some favorites, and don’t forget this is where you can get the Grey Stuff!
Flo’s V8 Cafe is located in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park. It’s a super cute Route 66-inspired diner offering the finest fuel in 50 states! I recommend the Brioche French Toast (yum!) or the Chicken Tamale Breakfast. Both are sure to get your motor running in the morning.
Eating at the Disneyland Resort is just as much a part of the theme park experience as going on the rides and viewing the shows.
