At Walt Disney World Resort, the festivities are in full swing. In Magic Kingdom, guests can kick off Black History Month with a special touch. Emmy-winning journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall will lead the grand parade on February 1st, adding a touch of celebrity sparkle to the occasion. Guests can also embark on a whimsical journey with Princess Tiana and her friends on the brand-new “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” a musical adventure featuring original songs.
Over at EPCOT, guests can immerse themselves in the vibrant world of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This celebration of artistic expression showcases the talents of several Black artists, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate diverse perspectives and styles.
For music lovers, the America Gardens Theatre will host captivating performances by DISNEY ON BROADWAY stars, bringing the magic of Broadway to life.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can experience the infectious energy of Viva Gaia, a lively troupe of musicians leading a Caribbean street party in Discovery Island. The rhythmic beats of the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe will also fill the air in the Africa section of the park, inviting guests to join in the celebration.
To further enhance the experience, Walt Disney World Resort is offering a selection of limited-time dishes that celebrate Black culture. Guests can savor culinary delights such as Blackened Salmon with Plant-based Hot Italian Sausage-Bean Ragoût and indulge in a decadent Peach Cobbler, available at various locations throughout the resort.
At Disneyland Resort, the “Celebrate Soulfully” spirit is equally vibrant. Disneyland Park will host the return of the beloved “Celebrate Gospel” concerts on February 8th and 15th. These uplifting events feature powerful performances by award-winning gospel music stars and community choirs from across Southern California, creating a truly memorable experience.
Guests can also delve into the rich storytelling of Princess Tiana throughout New Orleans Square and Bayou Country in Disneyland Park. This includes the enchanting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a captivating water ride that brings the vibrant world of the Princess and the Frog to life.
In Disney California Adventure Park, guests can encounter the formidable Black Panther and even train with his loyal bodyguards, the Dora Milaje, in the “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” experience.
The Downtown Disney District also joins the celebration. Sip & Sonder, a Black women-owned brand, offers a unique selection of signature lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks, and Caribbean-inspired bites, providing a taste of cultural diversity. Guests can also discover Celebrate Soulfully offerings at select dining locations like Ballast Point Brewing Co., Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, and Lovepop.
Beyond the month of February, guests can continue to enjoy experiences that celebrate Black heritage throughout the year. Character meet-and-greets, diverse entertainment options, and culturally-inspired dining experiences are available year-round, ensuring that the spirit of “Celebrate Soulfully” remains alive and vibrant at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
