Disney Cruises aren’t cheap and many try to find ways to save. One of the biggest ways to save was to book another while onboard. That promotion is now changing. Announced today Disney Cruise Line will no longer be offering the Onboard Credit (OBC) to guests taking advantage of booking another cruise while still on their Disney Cruise, for perks.
Many enjoyed the perks of booking a placeholder while onboard your current cruise. The offer is to receive a 10% discount for stateroom categories 4A-11C. (Block out dates may apply.) Also, it use to be $100 OBC for DCL sailings 6 nights or less and $200 OBC for DCL sailing 7+ nights as well as 50% off deposit. While the offer still includes the 10% discount received and the 50% off deposit, the OBC is no more. The only exclusion will be the Concierge level. They do not receive the 10% off so they will still allow the OBC as part of their promotion.
The changes will take effect on sailings/ships:
September 28, 2019 for Disney Fantasy
September 30th, 2019 for Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic
If you are currently onboard you still have time to take advantage of the promotion before the changes are in effect. Any bookings made previous to the above dates the OBC will still be a part of your special offer. It only applies to new bookings from these dates forward.
Given the price and value of the Disney Cruise Line, while disappointing about the OBC, 10% is still a good savings.
