Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Wish, was originally scheduled to sail its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022. Disney Cruise Line recently announced that the inaugural sailing has been postponed to July 14, 2022. All sailings that were supposed to take place between June 9 and July 14 have been canceled.
The postponement is due to the shipyard working on the Disney Wish needing more time to finish the ship. The shipyard is blaming the pandemic and particularly the arrival of the Omicron variant in Germany.
Guests who were booked on the original maiden voyage will be automatically shifted to the new sail date of July 14 at a 50 percent discount. If they are unable to move to the new sail date, they will have the option of either a 50 percent discount on a future cruise departing by December 31, 2023, with any originally paid funds converted to a Future Cruise Credit, or a full refund.
Guests who were originally booked on the other affected sailings will have the option of either a 50 percent discount on a future cruise departing by December 31, 2023, with any originally paid funds converted to a Future Cruise Credit, or a full refund.
The sale of all Disney Wish sailings has been temporarily paused while changes are processed. On February 8, Disney Wish sales will resume and new sailings may be booked online.
After the maiden voyage, which is a 5-night sailing, the Disney Wish will sail 3- and 4-night itineraries to the Bahamas.
