Inside Pixar / A Spark Story

On February 3rd, 1986, Pixar Animation Studios was founded. From its plucky early days as a small studio, it has evolved into a powerhouse in all things Computer-Animated. A Pixar release for many doesn’t just include a story, but a glimpse into what is possible in technology and animation for the future. Looking to discover more about Pixar? Check out the movies below!

  • The Pixar Story (2007)
    • It is this author’s humble opinion that without the melding of Pixar to Disney, we would not have the vibrant and technological advancements we see on our screens today. Don’t get me wrong, Disney has the talent and would get there, but the combination of teams caused an evolution of change. Pixar’s story, though newer than Disney’s, is just as important. The work that Pixar was producing in the 80s and 90s was completely radical and had never been seen before. But don’t take my word for it! Check out ‘The Pixar Story’ and learn about what a small and mighty studio can do with a bit of funding and a whole lot of talent.
  • Inside Pixar (2020)
    • Looking to discover all the moving parts that make Pixar… well… Pixar? Inside Pixar does just that. Collaboration, patience, talent – and so much more go into making each film. Season One spans over 20 episodes, each one focusing on why each job at Pixar is just as valuable as the next. If you’re looking to get a crash course on what it’s like on the Pixar campus, go no further.
  • The Story Behind ‘Toy Story’ (1997)
    • Toy Story was the little movie that could. Now “little” may be an incorrect word to use, but for the 1995 Feature Film from a studio that had been founded just 9 years before, many could not believe what could be achieved in computer animation. The film was not a novelty – it was simply a new standard.
  • A Spark Story (2021)
    • This documentary is such a great insight into how even small projects can have such a huge impact. It also highlights the sheer amount of work and dedication that goes into making something small, and great.

  • One Day at Disney (Shorts) (2019)
