It’s time to play that mixtape and prepare for something amazing because Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is officially coming next year!
During a D23 panel, Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, experiences and products chairman shared with the public the the highly anticipated roller coaster will open at Epcot next summer! The announcement was made with the help of Glen Close, who will reprise her role as Nova Prime for the attraction, through a little video revealing the big news.
You will be able to find Nova Prime in the new Wonders of Xandar “other world” pavilion at Epcot, which the Xandarians are currently constructing in the park’s newly renamed World Discovery neighborhood. Here you will learn more about Xandarians and their advanced technologies, which they’re bringing to us here on Earth, or Terra, as they call our planet.
New concept art was also shared during the panel featuring the Xandar Gallery so guests can discover more about the Xandarian people, their culture and history, including heroes like the Guardians of the Galaxy!

A new poster for the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction was also revealed! Let’s talk about all the details in it:
- Let’s start with those cosmic misfits bursting right out at us, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax and Star-Lord brandishing his beloved cassette player.
- We can also see guests aboard the innovative new ride vehicles for this roller coaster, which are unlike anything else in the galaxy!
- We can also spot Star-Lord’s ship. If the Guardians are around, it’s a good bet they’re aboard.
- Speaking of ships, check out the Starblasters in the upper left. These Nova Corps vessels are emerging from a jump point, the Xandarian method for crossing vast distances of space in mere moments. Who knows whats on the other side?
