For those researching Disney cruises for the first time, the Fall can be a wonderful time to set sail. Not only a rates a bit cheaper but you also have an opportunity to enjoy one of Disney’s Halloween on the High Seas sailings. Starting in September and running through until the end of October, each of the four ships in Disney’s fleet pull out all the stops to throw a Halloween Bash like no other.
If you’re trying to determine whether or not a Halloween on the High Seas sailing is right for you, check out some of the incredible additional activities thrown in during your visit.
Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party – During this delightful Halloween Party organized for children of all ages, guests are encouraged to don your favorite costumes, grab those trick-or-treat bags and hit the decks for a scare-a-bration that features ghoulish games, trick-or-treating, a dance party and more! Didn’t bring a costume? Don’t worry. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on board offers princess and pirate makeovers so that your little ones can look the part!
Halloween Activities – As soon as you enter the grand atrium on your ship you’ll notice that a special Halloween companion has decided to join you on your voyage. The Pumpkin Tree (see pictured above) is a mysterious storytelling caretaker who you’ll join the first night of your sailing when you help him plant enchanted pumpkin seeds. Throughout your sailing, you can watch as the tree starts to magically transform from the barren tree you see on embarkation day to the life of the party filled with incredible Jack-o-Lanterns. This is just one of the engaging special onboard activities you’ll get to enjoy during a Halloween on the High Seas sailings. Others include everything from mask-making to pumpkin carving!
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing and Scream – Throughout your sailing, you’ll be able to catch Halloween-themed movies on the Funnel Vision screen near the main pool area, in your stateroom and at the onboard movie theater. However, if there’s one spooktacular screening you won’t want to miss its A Nightmare Before Christmas – Sing and Scream. This interactive movie experience is ideal for fans of the Pumpkin King. During this special screening of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” guests become part of the action. Afterwards, visitors also have an opportunity to line up to have your pictures taken with Jack and Sally!
Haunted Stories on the High Seas – Embrace the spirit of the season with Halloween-themed sights and sounds everywhere you turn! Enjoy a band of ghostly musicians as they perform Halloween-themed tunes in the atrium or pop up to the pool deck for Haunted Stories of the Sea where a ghostly captain shares some of his scary tales of life on the Sea!
Halloween-themed Goodies – Each year, Disney Cruise Line’s culinary team pulls out all the stops to great some wickedly delicious treats. Goodies from Halloween on the Highs Seas cruises in years gone by have included chocolate cakes with pumpkin filling, spider cakes (pictured above) and spooky juice. Half the fun is seeing what they come up with during your sailing.
Not Just for Kids – For guests considering an Adults only getaway, there’s also plenty of Halloween activities with you in mind. A highlight is an adults-only party that includes a costume contest! Half the fun is seeing what clever costumes the guests come up with!
