Is Hollywood Studios still worth visiting?

Fantasmic

Hollywood Studios has had some recent closures that have left many guests wondering if the park is still worth visiting. In one word, YES! While in the past year or so, we have lost Lights! Motors! Action! Stunt Show, Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, Monsters Inc. Meet & Greet, and The Magic of Disney Animation to name a few, at the park still remains some of the top favorite rides such as Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Skipping Hollywood Studios would mean missing some of the best rides Disney World has to offer!

For the little ones in your group, Hollywood Studios has an area devoted just to Disney Junior- including a meet & greet with some of your favorite Disney Jr. characters. Guests with little ones will also enjoy Hollywood & Vine, a fun character buffet breakfast and lunch where you can dine with Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First,  Jake & the Neverland Pirates, and Handy Manny, or experience Disney Junior Live on Stage! You won’t find these characters anywhere else in Disney.

Do you have a Star Wars fan? Sign up for the Jedi Training Academy and watch the young ones train in the way of the force and battle a dark side villain.   At Star Wars Launch Bay, explore immersive special exhibits and get a peek behind the scenes of the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, get a big hug from your favorite wookie, Chewbacca,  take a walk on the Dark Side by visiting with Kylo Ren and much more. You can also blast off aboard a Starspeeder 1000, on Star Tours- a 3D simulator ride with an all new destination from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. End your day in a galaxy far, far away with an out of this world Fireworks display- Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular set to Star Wars music.

For that little Princess in your life, don’t miss For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, a delightful retelling of the Kingdom’s tale by two of Arrendale’s famous historians that is entertaining and heart-warming! Also, arriving this summer is a meet and greet with your favorite snowman, Olaf. Movie fans, won’t want to miss the Great Movie Ride, a journey through some of Hollywood’s most famous films. You can also experience the magic of the Muppets at Muppet Vision 3D.

Aside from the attractions, Hollywood Studios has some wonderful themed dining experiences like Sci- Fi Dine-in Theater Restaurant where you will sit in a car shaped booth and enjoy a meal at 50’s drive in while watching some thrilling sci-fi movie scenes. Also, 50’s Prime Time Cafe an eatery themed like Mom’s kitchen. Mom and the extended family will make sure you know not to put your elbows on the table, put your napkin on your lap and always wash your hands before a meal! New this year, at Hollywood and Vine you can also dine with Minnie and Friends at her seasonal dinner. According to Walt Disney World’s website, each season brings a new experience “… fabulous dinner parties celebrate the cheerful togetherness of the holidays, the glamour of Hollywood, the delight of spring, the excitement of summer and the frightening fun of Halloween. With each new season, look for unique music, décor, all-new costumes, menu items and interactive musical moments.”

Last, but of course not least, is my favorite nighttime show, FANTASMIC! This magical show takes you into the imagination of Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. You will see the forces of good and evil battling it out in Mickey’s dream and watch Mickey save the day!

Even with all the recent closures, there are many experiences and attractions that you won’t find anywhere else and just can’t be missed at Hollywood Studios! While we wait for the opening of Star Wars & Toy Story Land, Hollywood Studios IS and will ALWAYS be still worth visiting!
