One of the biggest questions guests have to answer when planning their Walt Disney World vacation is “when should we go?”. Crowd levels play a big part in that decision and in the past there were pretty predictable slow seasons at Disney World. Now, we’re not so sure slow seasons exist anymore.
Before the pandemic hit, winter months like January and February were slower months for crowds. That has not been the case in 2022! Part of the reasoning is runDisney races have returned, health and safety protocols have changed, and more people are traveling again. As we get closer to March, crowds levels are expected to stay high.

March and April will be busy at the parks due to Spring Break, then May will be busy with families visiting after school is out for the summer. Which means June, July, and August will remain busy as well. Many visitors plan their trips around school breaks so you’ll see the highest crowds during the summer months.
September might be the only month with a possible “slow season”. Once kids are back in school, the crowds die down for a brief moment. The best time in September is after Labor Day. Now that kids can do virtual school, however, families are taking advantage of traveling during “normal” school months.

October then starts up the holiday months. Crowd levels increase thanks to the Halloween and Christmas parties. October, November, and December are not slow months.
I firmly believe that any time you can go to Disney World is the best time! It’s all about perspective and planning. If you plan on higher crowds, you can then take the right steps to make sure you have the vest time! My top tips for choosing lower crowds is go while school is in session, avoid major holidays, and avoid runDisney weekends.
