Royal Caribbean just announced that their private island, CocoCay, has officially re-opened after a $250 million renovation. The renovations also determined a slight change to the name of the island. It is now called “Perfect Day at CocoCay!” I don’t know about you, but I want to get on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as soon as possible to experience this beautiful island!
Let’s dive into some of the great experiences available on the island!
As soon as you step foot on this beautiful island, you’ll see there is plenty to do! At Captain Jack’s you can jam out to live music, order super tasty food or grab a drink at the rowboat bar. Another great place to grab food is Skipper’s Grill which has burgers, sandwiches, and salads for your lunchtime needs. Watch yourself at the Sprayaway Geyser as it shoots up water 82 feet in the air whenever it feels like it. For the thrill seekers, you can soar above the island on the 1,600-foot zip line. For our younger adventurers, make sure to check out Galleon which is a ship-shaped water play area with slides, water cannons, splash pad and more. If you want to take a piece of the island home with you, make sure to check out the Logo Shop for all kinds of fun CocoCay swag!
You can ride Daredevil’s Peak which is the tall waterslide in North America at 135 feet tall! They also have created the Caribbean’s largest wave pool! There are also lots of different obstacles to bounce, climb and swing your way through at the Adventure pool. There are tons of thrills and fun waiting for you at the Thrill Waterpark. There is also a Family Tower ready for you and your family to conquer together. Make sure to check out Splashaway Bay too which is a super fun waterpark is for kids! There is plenty of slides and drench buckets to keep your kids busy and having fun all day long. If you want to relax or grab some food, there is also the Snack Shake full of tasty foods such as burgers, hot dogs, salads and more. You can also chill out for a bit in the Cabanas if you want more of a relaxed vibe.
Get Carried Away
Want to see the whole island and have amazing views of the Caribbean? This tethered helium balloon takes you up 450 feet above the island.
Is your perfect vacation totally relaxing and enjoying the ocean breeze and sunshine? Then Chill Island is the place for you! Chill out for a bit in the Cabanas, clamshell chairs or day beds across the beach. Once you are reenergized, you can grab snorkel gear from the Snorkel Shack or head out on a Jet Ski excursion. Then you can grab a bite at the Chill Grill which has tons of awesome food including barbecued chicken and Caribbean-style bites.
Coco Beach Club
Come December 2019, the Coco Beach Club will open on the island as the ultimate place to relax in luxury. There will be overwater cabanas, exclusive Mediterranean cuisine and an infinity edge pool overlooking the ocean.
With so many great things to do on the island, I don’t know how you’d do everything in one day! What are you most looking forward to?
