This summer as the sun sets, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park comes alive. Enjoy beautiful night time shows, glowing otherworldly rainforests, dessert parties, Disney After Hours events and so much more to fill your evening with fun. Let’s embark on a twilight journey to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and discover why it’s a perfect place to spend a summer night.
Rivers of Light: We Are One
This gorgeous nighttime show has been recently reimaged with captivating special effects and a majestic musical score. Rivers of Light: We Are One celebrates the circle of life and mankind’s connection with the animal world. As you gather at the water’s edge you will be transported into the story of nature and all living things, reminding us we are all one together sharing this beautiful planet earth. During this 17-minute nighttime performance you will experience scenes from live-action Disneynature footage as well as moments from some of your favorite Disney animated film animal friends. With incredible special effects such as water screens, lantern floats, water fountains along with a musical score that is often as lively as it is lovely, you will be mesmerized by this exquisite nighttime show. One thing you will notice missing from the show are fireworks. To ensure the safety of the nearby animals in the park there are no fireworks during the show.
Seating for Rivers of Light: We Are One is limited and you should arrive early. If you don’t want to save a seat early you can take advantage of the Fast Pass+ option seating for this show or make reservations for the Rivers of Light dining package or Dessert Party that will help to secure your seat.
Rivers of Light: We Are One Dessert Party
Enjoy delicious desserts before the show and then watch Rivers of Light: We Are One from a perfect spot in your reserved seating location. You begin in the Rivers of Light Asia Viewing Area terrace entrance (located across from Expedition Everest). After you check in, soothe that sweet tooth with spectacular themed dessert selections, as well as some savory items. Beverage selections include specialty alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages as well as iced tea, lemonade, and water. Once you have finished off your desserts, a Cast Member will escort you to a reserved seating area to enjoy your incredible view for the show.
Rivers of Light: We Are One Dessert Party reservations are required and can be made by calling (407) WDW-DINE or online. The dessert party cost is $79 per adult and $47 per child (ages 3-9) plus tax. Also important to note is that separate Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park admission is required in addition to your admission into the dessert party.
Tree of Life Awakenings
Watch as animals on the Tree of Life come alive at night with dazzling lights, amazing projections, and images that are in a word … stunning. New for this summer, experience the beloved music and featured animals inspired from the release of the motion picture The Lion King. Tree of Life Awakenings takes place each night beginning after dark and will run about every 10 minutes until park close.
Safari at Night
Experience Kilimanjaro Safaris like never before as you take a ride through the savanna after sundown. Encounter unique nocturnal animal behaviors that you will not see on the regular day time safari. Afraid it will be too dark? No worries, as you journey through you will notice some lighting that mimics the feel of the setting sun, giving you an opportunity to see the animals. As always your expert safari guide will be with you on your adventure to lend all their knowledge about the amazing animals you will see along the way.
Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience
Discover Africa through a beautiful private safari tour and delicious African-inspired food and beverages with this delightful experience. You will begin with a safari into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, then enjoy the views from the private viewing area looking over the breathtaking savanna. While there enjoy tastes of African-inspired cuisine. For guests 21 years of age and over, there are regional beer and wine offerings. Guests must be at least 8 years of age to participate in this experience. Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience is $169 per guest plus tax and can be booked by calling (407) WDW-TOUR.
Pandora – The World of Avatar
Pandora – The World of Avatar transforms into a fascinating world that takes on a completely different ambiance as the sun sets. Discover the Valley of Mo’ara as you travel through glowing pathways, behold bioluminescent plant life, and listen for the sounds that are Pandora. Take a moment in the evenings to explore this world and its beauty.
Disney After Hours Event
Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park gives you 3 extra hours of adventure! This special ticketed event is offered on select nights this summer, giving a smaller number of guest access to the park to enjoy attractions such as: Avatar Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, DINOSAUR, Mickey and Minnie Greetings at Adventurers Outpost and so much more. If you need a snack break during the event you can munch on popcorn, ice cream and enjoy select beverages all included with your After Hours ticket purchase. The best part about this event is that tickets are limited, which means crowd levels will be low and attraction lines will be short so you can enjoy more during your time in the park. The event takes place from 9 pm through midnight, however, you can get in as early as 7 pm on the event night giving you even more time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is $125 when purchased before the day of the event per adult or child or is $129 plus tax per child or adult on the day of the event.
Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour
Experience Disney’s Animal Kingdom at night in this 4-hour VIP tour. During this guided group tour, you will experience Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Avatar Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey, DINOSAUR, and River of Light all with expedited FastPass+ access that only a VIP tour can provide. During the tour, you will take a break with snacks and a specialty beverage (nonalcoholic or alcoholic for guests 21 and over). The cost of this tour is $249 per person and you will also need valid admission to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park on the day of your tour.
