While planing a Walt Disney World family vacation, there are many things to consider. One of the major questions on your mind might be, “where are we going to stay?”. With over 30 different Walt Disney Resort properties, it can be difficult to pick the right resort for your family. Not to worry, because we’ve narrowed down the top 3 best Walt Disney World Resorts for you and your families!
#3 Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is one of Disney’s value resorts. This allows the resort to have elaborate, larger than life theming in the larger common areas and more basic rooms with double beds. The room rates for this resort are pretty reasonable and great for any family that is visiting on a budget. Disney’s Art of Animation is also perfect for families who want to maximize their time at the parks. This resort has designated bus loading areas and also has access to the Disney Skyliner Transport!
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has several newly refurbished rooms! They maximize the smaller space by having a Murphy bed that goes down for sleeping and up during the day to reveal a desk. There are also 2 room family suites available that are perfect for accommodating larger families!
Our favorite family suite is the “Lion King” themed suites that sleep 6. There are 2 bathrooms and 3 separate sleeping areas.
Lastly, you can’t go wrong with THE largest resort pool in the Walt Disney World Resort! Make a splash at the Big Blue Pool which is appropriately themed after Pixar’s “Finding Nemo”. There is even an interactive water play area that is perfect for your little ones!
#2 The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
You and your family will enjoy the great outdoors and all these fantastic amenities while staying at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Wilderness Cabins are air-conditioned and comfortably sleep up to 6 people. The cabins feature vaulted ceilings, fully functional kitchens, full bathrooms, television, DVD players, outdoor grills, picnic tables, and a private patio deck.
These cabins offer a lot for families who want to spend a little more time enjoying their resort stay. There are so many fun activities for kids to participate in. Let the little ones partake in watercraft, the beach, fishing, tennis courts, two heated swimming pools, and an arcade game room. The whole family can also enjoy the campfire and marshmallow roast with Disney characters and a Disney movie.
Just for your convenience, there is a grocery store and camping supplies at Meadow and Settlement Trading Posts. There are also several dining options available including Crockett’s Tavern, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, Trail’s End Restaurant and “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue”, a nightly dinner show at Pioneer Hall.
Bus and boat transportation are available for guests and connect the cabins and campground with all Walt Disney World Resort areas.
#1 Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts. The resort is known for its luxurious rooms, superior dining, and extensive recreational activities. It also comes with the convenience of getting to the parks with ease. What’s unique about this resort and what we love is the quaint blue colors and New England beach club of the 1870s theme that ties the whole resort together.
This resort is perfect for families that want the best of both worlds. Families can maximize their time at the parks because it is within walking distance to Epcot. Feeling a bit run down, then head back to Disney’s Beach Club Resort for some relaxation or some fun pool time!
Speaking of the pool, Stormalong Bay Pool is the absolute BEST pool at any Disney Resort! Children or adults with the heart of a child will love sliding down the thrilling pirate ship slide. There is also a marina with motorized watercraft and Disney movies on the beach!
Don’t forget to take the family to Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. There is dining in Cape May Café as well as two additional lounges.
Those were our top 3 best Walt Disney World Resorts for families! We’re sure that no matter which one fits your family best, you stay will be nothing short of fantastic!
