While planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, there are a lot of things and activities to consider. With so many things to do at all four parks, you’re going to want to fit in as much as you can. One of the best ways to make memories to last a lifetime, are the many character meet and greets throughout the whole resort. However, did you know that there are some characters whose photo opportunities are slightly off the beaten path? We’re here to tell you about the top 5 Walt Disney World meet and greets you might not have known about!
Mulan-
Guests visiting Epcot can have a one of a kind meet and greet with Mulan in the China Pavilion. Explore through the Bamboo Garden and meet the heroic Mulan. Make sure you have your camera and autograph book ready!
Joy from Pixar’s “Inside Out”-
Also in Epcot is where you can have an “emotional” encounter with the ever-so-positive, Joy! You can find Joy near Imagination! in Future World West. With all the new exciting renovations coming in the near future to Epcot, this meet and greet could be temporarily relocated. Not to worry though, just ask a Walt Disney World Cast Member to point you in the right direction.
Merida
Princess Merida is in the Magic Kingdom. She can be found on the path going up toward Fantasyland, and adjacent to Cinderella’s Wishing Well. This location is named Fairytale Garden and is the perfect setting for our Brave friend. It’s fate that not a whole lot of guests know about this meet and greet. We hope that means shorter wait times for you!
Olaf-
When this lovable snowman first arrived at Hollywood Studios, he was VERY popular. This character meet is still one of our favorites and the line to see him is often not bad at all. Make sure you’re ready for the best warm hugs around! Tip: Although Olaf does not sign autographs, this experience is priceless!
Pocahontas-
Pocahontas is available for a meet and greet in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. However, sometimes she be a little tricky to find. Many guests don’t know where to find her or perhaps, don’t realize that she even has a meet and greet. She was meeting right before the bridge to Dinoland U.S.A., but now can be found on the Discovery Island Trails. Just to make sure, we would check the Walt Disney World App for times or ask a Cast Member for assistance.
Extra Planning Tips-
These our five of our favorite lesser known meet and greets for your family to enjoy on your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. Something to know before you go, is that some characters are exclusive to certain parks, so make sure you plan accordingly. For example, Olaf is only available to meet at Hollywood Studios. While Anna and Elsa are exclusive to the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. If you have a Frozen fan in your family, you will want to take advantage of both these experiences. So, a visit to both parks is a must.
Also, certain dining experiences will have certain meet and greet opportunities as well. Check with specific dining locations in the parks and at your Walt Disney World hotel to inquire about these special experiences.
Don’t forget to look into a Memory Maker in order to save all these magical photos in the same place. This is a great way to ensure you get all your photos to take home with you in digital form. In our opinion, it’s more than worth it, especially when it comes to multiple character experiences.
