Will you be in the Walt Disney World area during the Super Bowl (Sunday, February 4th)? If you’re looking to spend some time watching the Patriots square off against the Eagles then there are a handful of options you may want to consider. However, with less than a week until the Super Bowl, these may require a bit of persistence and careful planning as many Disney venues sell out quickly. Here’s a couple of our suggestions on possible Game Day venues.
1. The ESPN Club – Disney’s Boardwalk – Located at Disney’s Boardwalk, ESPN Club is easy to get to from both Hollywood Studios and Epcot which offer boat transportation to the Boardwalk Inn. With over 40 television screens, it may sound like the ideal location to take in the Big Game, but as you can imagine crowds can get pretty packed. With that in mind, this year ESPN Club is offering a premium package on Super Bowl Sunday that covers the first $100 that you spend on food, beverages or merchandise (taxes and tips not included). However, guests should be advised that this event is currently sold out. I spoke to a Coach at the restaurant and they advised that cancellations tend to happen once the Super Bowl line-up is solidified. To check on openings you can call the ESPN Zone directly at 407-939-1177 during normal operating hours. The Coach that I spoke to said that there may be outdoor walk-up seating available on the day but this is on a first come first served basis and is expected to go quickly.
2. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex – In years past, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex hosted Super Bowl coverage on its Jumbotron. However, the past few years, dance and cheerleading competitions have been booked in during Super Bowl weekends meaning that Super Bowl Events are at a minimum. I’ve been informed by a cast member that the Sports Grill restaurant will be open and the game will be broadcast across the many screens you’ll find throughout the dining areas. The Menu features a lot of your favorite tailgating treats from hot dogs and burgers to chicken wings and brews.
3. Shula’s Steakhouse – I can’t think of a more fitting place to celebrate the Super Bowl with a touch of class than at Shula’s Steakhouse at Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort. I was even told by a Cast Member that a special menu will be created for Game Day and that they will be giving out footballs to lucky guests. Cheer on your team while you dine on succulents steaks, lamb chops and chicken dishes while surrounded by photos and memorabilia of the 1972 Miami Dolphins’ Perfect season! Advanced reservations are essential and can be made at 407.WDW.DINE or via My Disney Experience.
4. End Zone Food Court – If you’ll be staying at one of Disney’s All Star Resorts on Super Bowl Sunday, the End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort is a fun place to catch the game. The resort usually throws in a special surprise or two for football lovers.
5. Splitsville Luxury Lanes – Disney Springs – Though a bowling alley may not be the first place that comes to mind for Super Bowl viewing, Splitsville in Disney Springs has been known to pack in those fun-filled Super Bowl crowds. Splitsville will be screening the Big Game on February 4th. However, it would appear that Splitsville is currently booked up on the Big Day. You can monitor reservations at 407.WDW.DINE or at My Disney Experiences.
Other Disney Springs locations that have been known to throw a Super Bowl bash include The BOATHOUSE and Paradiso 37. Readers should follow along with our sister site Chip and Co. regarding the lastest updates on Disney Springs’ eateries that will be doing something special for the Super Bowl.
6. Your Resort Lounge or Pool Bar – Struggling to find that last minute place from which to watch the game? Why not enjoy it from the comfort of your own resort. Resort Lounges and Pool Bars have long been a popular Disney Game Day destination and have been known to pull out all the stops. Here’s a list of Lounges and Pool Bars that you may want to check out on Super Bowl Sunday.
- Ale and Compass Lounge – Yacht Club
- Crews Cup Lounge – Yacht Club Resort
- Crockett’s Tavern – Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
- Geyster Point Bar & Grill – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
- Martha’s Vineyard – Beach Club Resort
- Mizner’s Lounge – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Rix Sports Bar & Grill – Coronado Springs Resort
- Scat Cats Club – Port Orleans- French Quarter
- Territory Lounge – Wilderness Lounge
- Turf Club Lounge – Saratoga Springs
