What Disney World Rides to Book First with Disney Genie+
A lot of planning goes into Disney World vacations! One service you can pay for is Genie+ but once you buy it, you’ll want to know which rides to book first. Disney Genie+ is the new FastPass service at Disney World and allows guests to book a return time for rides in order to have a lower wait. Not all rides offer Genie+ access (Lightning Lane) so you’ll want to know how to work the system in the best way.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Let’s start with Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Honestly, most of the time you won’t need Genie+ at Animal Kingdom. If you do decide to purchase it, there are a couple of rides to prioritize. Both Kilimanjaro Safari and Na’vi River Journey see long lines throughout the day. Both are rides the whole family can enjoy so you’ll want to book those first. I do recommend booking Kilimanjaro Safari either first thing in the morning or later in the day. The animals will be more active during those times.
Epcot
Epcot, like Disney’s Animal Kingdom, doesn’t have very many rides so Genie+ is not always necessary. However, the service can be a great way to experience the top rides at Epcot. There are three main rides that still see long wait times throughout the day. Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track are very popular attractions. Test Track does offer a single rider line if your group doesn’t mind splitting up to ride. Keep in mind also, the newest attraction at Epcot, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, is only accessible via Virtual Queue or Individual Lightning Lane.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has multiple E-ticket attractions! Genie+ can be very helpful but also somewhat tricky. If your family wants to experience Slinky Dog Dash, that should be your first ride of the day. If you prefer to head to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll want to book Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run. Other rides that tend to have longer wait times throughout the day are Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster does offer a single rider line though if you don’t mind breaking up your group.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is the park where Genie+ comes in most handy! There are so many wonderful rides that offer Lightning Lane. The classic Peter Pan’s Flight continues to see long wait times and books up very quickly on Genie+. If you want to fly to Neverland, this is definitely on of the rides to book first.
Surprisingly, Jungle Cruise is another ride that sees longer lines throughout the day. Since it takes longer to load and unload, the wait doesn’t move extremely fast, making it a tough, hot line throughout the day. Genie+ helps you bypass that line and see the backside of water much sooner!
Other rides to prioritize at Magic Kingdom include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and it’s a small world.
Do you agree with our recommendations for which rides to book first? Which rides do you like to use Genie+ for?
