If you’re a parent traveling with small children you may be wondering whether or not the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival offers enough activities for small fries to enjoy while you taste your way around the World Showcase.  This year the answer is a resounding yes! The Food & Wine Festival is not only a terrific opportunity to immerse your little ones in the sights, sounds and tastes of the World Showcase but there’s also a handful of special Food & Wine Festival activities created with children and families in mind. Let’s check them out~

Candi-Sushi- Workshop  (pictured above) Disney has just released details about this exciting new offering taking place at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot’s The Land Pavilion.  During this hands-on workshop candy fans of all ages can sharpen your itamae skills as you learn to transform some of your favorite candies into colorful (and tasty) maki or nigiri style rolls.  During this session, traditional sushi ingredients have been replaced with gummies, fruit strips, crisped rice and more!  The sessions take place twice daily at 3:30 and 5:30 during festival time.  The workshop is free for Epcot guests but due to popularity, reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made via your My Disney Experience account or by calling 407.939.3378.  Guests under the ages of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

10 Tips Food & Wine

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide ‘n’ Squeak Scavenger Hunt – We are delighted to see that this Ratatouille-themed scavenger hunt is back for another year.  A fun way to explore the global marketplaces of the World Showcase, guests help Remy as he collects ingredients for one of his signature dishes.  You can pick up your map and sticker set at Disney Traders, Festival Center, Pin Central Port of Entry and World Traveler.  As you explore the World Showcase, be on the lookout for Remy. When you find him, place the corresponding ingredient on the correct spot on the map and start making some culinary magic!

Junior Chef Kitchen presented by Krusteaz® – Budding chefs between the ages of 4 and 10 can take part in this complimentary experience where they’ll learn to make, decorate and sample their own delightful pancake creations using fun recipes. The event will take place at the Festival Center on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am.

Playground – Kids can burn off that excess energy and sugar by frolicking at a special Food and Wine Festival Playground.  The area is designed with tiny visitors in mind with a bit of Disney-magic thrown in.  It’s the perfect place for kids to mingle while moms and dads take a much-needed break!

These are just a handful of the fund kid-friendly activities that you’ll find at this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival which runs from August 30 – November 12, 2018 at Epcot in Walt Disney World.  Readers are encouraged to keep following along with Disney Addicts and our sister site Chip and Co. for the latest in Festival news and updates.
