Disney Cruise Line

Families thinking about taking a Disney Cruise next Fall/Winter (2019) are able to start making those travel plans sooner than you think! Disney Cruise Lines announced last week that sailings for itineraries between October – January 2019 will go on sale starting Monday, May 21, 2018!

Let’s have a quick look at the booking windows:

When to Book:

May 21, 2018: Platinum Castaway Club Members
May 22, 2018: Platinum and Gold Castaway Club Members
May 23, 2018: Platinum, Gold and Silver Castaway Club Members
May 24, 2018: All Guests

Fall/Winter 2019 seems ages away, why would I want to book so early? As frequent Disney travelers will tell you, when it comes to sailing with Disney, the early bird definitely catches the worm.  Disney runs discounted fares slightly differently than other cruise lines.  Because Disney has a small fleet (only 4 ships), it is rare that they will run last minute discounts as most sailings do tend to fill up.  Instead, what they will do is offer more affordable rates for those booking as early as possible.   With that in mind, bookings will be at the most affordable during on-sale dates and prices will increase the closer you get to your sailing dates.  It’s not uncommon for guests who book early to pay hundreds less than those waiting until closer to the sailing dates – If you want the best savings book as early as possible.

Fall Winter 2019 Disney Cruise

Is Disney Cruise Line offering anything new For Fall/Winter 2019? –  Disney recently announced a few of the highlights of its Late 2019 sailing schedule.  We are excited to share these with you and they are as follows:

Tropical Getaways from Florida – The Disney Magic returns to Miami in November 2019 and will offer cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean with most itineraries featuring a day at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.  In addition, the Dream and Fantasy will continue their popular Bahamian, Eastern and Western Caribbean Cruises with some very notable highlights.  In October an 8-night voyage will take guests to St. Kitts, Antigua, San Juan and Castaway Cay.  There’s also a 6-night Western Caribbean which will include stops to Cozumel and Costa Maya Mexico as well as Castaway Cay. In December, Disney Cruise Line is also offering two unique 7-night sailings on the Disney Fantasy. The first includes stops in San Juan, Tortola and Castaway Cay. The second offers 2-days in Castaway Cay as well as stops in Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

Sailings to Bermuda, Bahamas and Canada from New York – The Disney Magic will be back in the Big Apple starting September 2019 whisking away guests to a wide array of destinations including Bermuda, Bahamas and New Brunswick Canada.  Highlights are three special 5-night cruises featuring two days in Bermuda, a 5-night cruise to Saint John, New Brunswick with a stop in Bar Harbor Maine, and 7-night sailings to the Bahamas which include a 1-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper ticket and roundtrip transportation to the Orlando theme parks!

Fall Winter 2019 Disney Cruise

Sailings to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Galveston, Texas – Starting in late November 2019 the Disney World will offer a special series of sailings to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Galveston including 6, 7 and 8-night options! The two Bahamian sailings include stops in Castaway Cay and Key West with two sailings also offering stops in Nassau and one cruise even offers two days at Castaway Cay.

Fall Winter 2019 Disney Cruise

Departures from California to Baja and the Mexican Riviera – For those on the West Coast looking to set sail with Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Wonder will offer sailings from September 2019 with stops in Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.  Disney will also be offering two exclusive 7-night Mexican Riviera sailings with stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.  For a little bit of extra Disney magic these sailings can be combined with a pre-cruise package with Adventures by Disney that includes a visit to The Walt Disney Studios and Disney Archives as a private tour of Walt Disney Imagineering and a visit to Disneyland Resort!

I’m interested in booking a 2019 Disney Cruise.  How much would I need to put down? For most cruises, the standard deposit required to secure your reservation is 20% of the total fare.  Terms and Conditions will be different for those booking concierge or club level rooms. No further payment is due until your final payment date which varies depending on Castaway Club status and length of sail.  However, guests booking most 2019 cruises would not need to pay off their cruise until Early 2019.

If I book this week can I cancel if I need to? Yes. Disney understands that Fall/Winter 2019 is a ways away and a lot can happen. Disney Cruise Line has a pretty flexible policy when it comes to making changes or cancellations to your bookings. You can make adjustments right up until your final payment deadline without penalty and pending availability.  In addition, if you need to cancel and do so before final payment you will receive a full refund.

Are itineraries still available for the rest of 2018 and 2019? Yes. There are still plenty of wonderful sailings available for the rest of this year into next year including sailings to Mexico, Bahamas, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Alaska, Canada, Bermuda, Transatlantic and European!
