When people think of a Walt Disney World Vacation, they probably assume the vacation will involve kids, but I’m here to tell you you can and should take a trip to Disney without your kids! There is so much for adults to do, and it is an entirely different experience when you travel with adults only. Here are just a few of the reasons to leave those little ones at home and take an adult-only trip!
Trying all of the awesome bars
There are some really great bars found around Walt Disney World Resort. Some, such as Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, do not allow minors after a certain time. It is a completely different vibe hanging out after all the little ones have left, and it is so much fun! Think the World Showcase at EPCOT is fun? Wait until you try it sans kids! Are you tired of your children turning the Food & Wine Festival into the Food & WHINE Festival? Leave them at home and enjoy all of the food & drinks you want.
Go at your own pace
The best part about ditching the kids is that you can be on your own schedule! You won’t have to worry about heading back to the resort for naps, I mean unless YOU want to take one! If you have had enough of the parks, you are free to head back to the hotel! It is really liberating to know that you can pretty much do whatever you want on your own terms!
You can ride ALL the thrill rides
You won’t be stuck only riding the children’s rides when you take an adult-only trip. Of course, many adults love the Disney classics as well, but riding all of the thrill rides is so much fun! You won’t be prioritizing your children’s favorites and you’ll be able to ride your favorite attraction as many times as you’d like!
Experience fine dining
It is an entirely different experience to enjoy an adult-only fine-dining meal at Disney. You won’t be stuck choosing restaurants based on the kid’s meal choices, or paying a prix fixe price for food that will likely get wasted. There are so many top-notch restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, and many are great for adult-only dining.
You can be a kid again
Grab those Mickey or Minnie ears and feel free to wear matching shirts! At Disney, everyone gets to be a kid again! There is something so special about being in Disney and allowing yourself to feel the magic as if you were a child. You can really soak up every experience because you are not constantly focused on making sure the kids are having a good time. With all of the daily responsibilities of adulthood, it’s so nice to take a break and be a child again.
While of course, it’s a wonderful experience to see the joy Disney brings to children, once in a while it’s ok to take an adult-only trip and experience all of the magic yourself!
