Taking the place of the former Paradise Pier area of the theme park, this new land is jam-packed with rides, restaurants, characters and more! With some many incredible activities kicking off this weekend at the West Coast Mouse, we thought we’d provide you with a round-up on all of the exciting Pixar-themed happening!
New Guidemaps – With the opening of Pixar Pier, California Adventure has unveiled brand new park maps to help guide you through this re-imagined area of the theme park. Face Painting – If you have a small child then you know that no visit to a Disney theme park would be complete without stopping for face painting at least once. A new face painting stall has opened up at Pixar Pier specializing in Pixar-themed designs including a mask inspired by the Incredibles, the little green aliens from Toy Story, your favorite characters from Finding Dory or the iconic balloons from the iconic Pixar film Up. Prices vary depending on designs but do come with free touch-ups so kids can keep their wearable works of art looking fresh throughout the day. For a closer look at the face painting area at Pixar Pier check out this article.
Lamplight Lounge – Though we are sad to bid the coveted Cove Bar adieu, we are mighty excited about the new eats on offer at the newly opening Lamplight Lounge. Guests opting for this sit-down restaurant will get to choose from a tantalizing array of entrees and appetizers including everything from sushi and burgers to deviled eggs, short ribs, delicious salads and even warm donuts with dipping sauce for dessert. For a closer look at the menu check out this article.
Pixar Pier Eats – The Lamplight Lounge isn’t the only great place to grab a bit at Pixar Pier, the area is filled with awesome kiosks for those looking to grab a bite on the go. Head over to the Inside Out-themed Angry Dogs to indulge in a spicy dog with fries. Poultry Place offers fried chicken on the go. One of our favorites new eateries has to be Senor Buzz Churros featuring delicious churro options including the amazing Caliente Churros. Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums serves up a tasty variety of cookies and for a Dole Whip-flavored ice cream treat head over to Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats. We promise that none of these new offerings will disappoint. For more information on the eclectic array of foods you’ll find at Pixar Pier check out this article!
Incredicoaster – And of course there is the headlining attraction at Pixar Pier, the newly re-imagined Incredicoaster. A re-purposing of the former California Screamin’ coaster at Paradise Pier, guests can now join Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible and the rest of the family on a fast-paced romp to find Jack-Jack. Our very own Chip was lucky enough to test out the attraction this weekend and has shared with us the following POV ride through! Enjoy.
You won’t want to miss a chance to try out this coaster for yourself during your next Disney California Adventure visit!
Pixar Pier-themed Merchandise – For those looking to bring home the perfect souvenir from your Disneyland adventure, the retail outlets at Pixar Pier will not disappoint. Half the fun of visiting Pixar Pier is checking out all the feats of Imagineering you’ll find here. The Pier also offers plenty of opportunities to be snapped with some of your favorite Pixar friends including Mr. Incredible, Elastigirll and Edna Mode! And finally, head to the bandstand where you can sing along to some of your favorite Pixar songs! For a closer look at the magic that awaits check out this video!
In addition to all of the wonderful experiences, you’ll currently find at Pixar Pier some notable additions are also on their way.
Emotional Whirlwind – Disney has been promising a new Inside Out-themed attraction and this week they delivered a few more details on the ride that will open in Inside Out Headquarters on the Pier’s West End. The name of the new attraction is Emotional Whirlwind. This family-friendly attraction is sure to delight kids and the kids at heart. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with Disney Addicts and our sister site Chip and Co. for the latest info regarding this exciting new project!
World of Color – Though Disneyland was hoping to re-introduce it’s dazzling nighttime water pageant World of Color the same time Pixar Pier opened, it looks as of going to print that guests will have to wait a bit longer before seeing this much-loved nighttime show. Disney announced earlier this week that the show won’t be returning just yet. Upcoming shows have been officially removed from the calendar. Reports point to damages to the production’s platform that need to be repaired. Though no official opening date has been announced, word on the street is that it may not be until after the Summer months. We promise to keep you posted.
As you can see it’s been a busy week for Pixar Pier news and this shows no signs of slowing. Keep following along with Disney Addicts for a closer look at this incredible new addition to Disney California Adventure and start planning your next Disneyland getaway.
