Earlier this week we noticed that a handful of Walt Disney World eateries are now be accepting reservations via OpenTable.com, a popular online reservation service in addition to being available to book through Disney directly. These Walt Disney World eateries will join a handful of privately-run Disney Springs restaurants that currently use the service. Combining both, we thought we’d treat OpenTable fans to a list of 8 of our favorite Walt Disney World restaurants that you can currently book through the OpenTable service.
1. Artist Point – This Fine/Signature Dining Restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has to be one of our favorites. Just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom this is a tranquil dining spot perfect for romantic meals and those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the parks. The menu has a focus on Pacific-Northwest Cuisine like our favorites the Cedar Planked Chinook Salmon or Petit Aged Buffalo Strip Loin. The restaurant also has a pretty impressive wine list with a focus on varieties coming from the Pacific Coast. As one of Disney’s more high-end eateries, you can expect to pay over $50 per person. However, for that last minute romantic meal it comes out tops.
2. Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant – If you find yourselves in the Disney Springs area and have a hankering for a nice pint of Guinness and some classic Irish pub grub then definitely nab an Open Table reservation for Raglan Road. The food here is pretty darn good with pub classics like Bangers and Mash, Guinness Stew and Shepherd’s Pie. The restaurant also offers nightly entertainment including live music and Irish dancing. With so much to offer, Raglan Road makes for a great night out.
3. Sanaa – I’m of the firm opinion that even if you aren’t staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge everyone should head over to Kidani Village and try to experience Sanaa. This African restaurant offers incredible views of the savannas surrounding this breathtaking resort meaning you can dine while watching animals stroll by. Then there’s the cuisine. This is easily one of my family’s favorite places to dine in all of Disney. The food on offer is a wonderful combination of African and Indian dishes with an amazing Indian bread course that you have to try. Other stand out dishes include the Traditional Sosatie comprised of Braai Lamb with Apricots, Pap, Spinach, Cashews and Goat Cheese or the Fragrant Duck with spiced Confit, Root Vegetables and Five-Gratin Pilaf. Dining at Sanaa will set visitors back $14 – $34.99 per person.
4. The BOATHOUSE – This Disney Springs eatery is perfect for those looking for a hearty meal with a focus on expertly cooked steaks, seafood and a raw bar. The eatery also offers classic craft cocktails, a robust wine list and our favorite, oysters on the half shell. With a massive dining room and beautiful views of Lake Buena Vista this is Disney waterfront dining at its best. Guests looking for an extra special treat may want to sign up for an Amphicar rental. This restaurant has a unique fleet of classic convertible cars that also double as water taxis. You can hire one of the restaurant’s expert Captains to take you for a joy ride before or after your meal. Dishes at The BOATHOUSE are usually between $15 – $34.99 per entree.
5. Flying Fish – This Fine/Signature Dining location is a seafood lovers dream. Located at Disney’s BoardWalk, the menu features seafood-centric options with an emphasis on sustainable fish and shellfish. Chef Majoras has created a series of impressive specialities including Wood-fired Spanish Octopus, Cobia and Key West Pink Shrimp and the Wild Alaskan Halibut with a Harvest Vegetable Melange and Potato Buerre Blanc. Flying Fish also has a Wine List with over 80 by-the-glass varieties. As one of Disney’s more upscale restaurants, guests can expect to pay upwards of $50 per person to dine here.
6. Grand Floridian Cafe – When it comes to breathtaking Disney properties, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort definitely has the “wow” factor making it the perfect place to spend some time dining and exploring the amazing shops, eateries and theme park views before hoping the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom. Open Table has recently started offering reservations for the Grand Floridian Cafe which offers moderately priced breakfast lunch and dinner options. Guests can start off their days with the iconic Mickey Waffles, indulge in a chocolate fondue with fruit for an afternoon snack or enjoy a classic steak dinner. The Cafe also has an eclectic cocktail menu and gourmet coffees. Costs here range from $15 – $34.99 per person.
7. Paddlefish – This Disney Springs eatery is located in the Paddleboat-esque building that was previously home to the Fulton Crab House. The menu offers an impressive array seafood dishes including Main Lobster, King and Snow Crab, Free Sea Bass as well as Catfish and Salmon. The restaurant also offers signature dishes including Lobster Corn Dogs and Crab legs. Depending on the dish you order prices can range from $15 – $59.99 per adult.)
8. Morimoto Asia – This Disney Springs eatery is the home to some pretty impressive Pan Asian cuisine and is one of my favorite places to grab a bite at Disney. With Japanese master chef Masaharu Morimoto at the helm, the restaurant offers unique exhibition kitchens that provides guests with behind-the-scenes views as the chefs masterfully prepare dishes like Peking Duck and Dim Sum. The property is beautiful with a massive 2-story dining room featuring 20 foot long chandeliers. Some of my favorites on the menu include anything on the Sushi Menu, Shrimp Pad Thai, Kung Pao Chicken and the Churro Fondu for dessert. The restaurant also garners a lot of buzz about its cocktail menu so if you’re over the age of 21 be sure to give one of the tasty tipples a try. As one of Disney’s Fine/Signature Dining Locations prices at Morimoto can range from $15 – $34.99 per person.
These are just a handful of the amazing eateries now available for reservations on OpenTable.com. Other options include Shula’s Steakhouse at the Swan and Dolphin, The Wave…of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. Guests can also book their reservations directly through Disney either via My Disney Experience or by calling 407.WDW.DINE.
