Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is one of the most luxurious resorts on Disney property! It is a Victorian-style deluxe resort located next to Magic Kingdom park. There are many great reasons to stay at this resort but let’s go over the top 5:
Location
The Grand Floridian has one of the best locations in all of Walt Disney World Resort! It’s positioned on the Seven Seas Lagoon with views of the Lagoon and Magic Kingdom park. You can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from some of the rooms! It’s also on the Resort Monorail Line which connects the hotel to Magic Kingdom, other resort hotels, and the Transportation & Ticket Center. There’s even a walkway to Magic Kingdom park if you feel like taking a stroll to the park.
Dining Options
There are a plethora of restaurants at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. From quick service to signature dining, you’re bound to find something you’ll love. You can even dine with Disney characters! 1900 Park Fare lets guests dine with Cinderella, her stepmother, stepsisters, & Prince Charming for dinner, and Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Tigger, & Winnie the Pooh for breakfast. If you’re looking for something more upscale, Victoria & Alberts is where it’s at. The Grand Floridian Cafe is one of my favorites! It offers delicious food and a great atmosphere.
Recreation
There are so many ways to spend your time while at the resort! There are pools and a splash area to cool off at. If you like to play out on the water, you can rent a boat and cruise the lagoon, take a specialty cruise, or book a fishing excursion. There are also jogging trails and basketball courts.
Theming & Decor
The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a gorgeously themed resort. Imagineers reimagined the Victorian era of early 20th century East Coast living. The gabled roofs and white walls reflect the architecture of the most beloved vacation destinations of those times. The designers even cheekily named each of the buildings after islands in the Florida Keys. As you walk the grounds of this hotel, you’ll be mesmerized by the ritzy interiors and luxurious exteriors of the various buildings.
