Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort located near Magic Kingdom park. Inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge celebrates American craftsmanship and honors the beauty of the untamed wilderness. This resort is every outdoor fan’s dream! From nature trails through pine forests to an erupting geyser, this resort is a favorite for sure. Here are 5 reasons why you should stay here for your next Disney World vacation.
Dining
One of my very favorite restaurants is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Whispering Canyon Cafe is a family-friendly restaurant that serves delicious food and great fun! Also, one of the best signature dining restaurants, Artist Point, is located at Wilderness Lodge. Artist Point is also a character dining restaurant where you can meet Snow White and some of her dwarf friends. And of course, there is a quick-service restaurant, Roaring Fork, for your quick dining needs. All three restaurants are some of the best eats in their price ranges.
Pool
Awesome pools are always a great reason to stay at a resort. Copper Creek Springs Pool is a dazzling heated pool surrounded by nature. Here, you can zip down an exciting 67-foot waterslide built into rocks or relax in hot and cold whirlpool spas. Kids can have a blast exploring the newly added water play area.
There’s also the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. You can bask in the laid-back charm of this watery oasis nestled within the Boulder Ridge Villas at the resort. At this location, you can soak in the whirlpool spa, enjoy a swim in the zero-depth entry pool or score a first-come, first-served spot at one of 6 shaded seating areas.
Rooms
The guest rooms at the Wilderness Lodge continue the lodge feel from the rest of the resort and are said to be some of the most welcoming rooms at Disney. In addition to the standard guest rooms with 1 king or 2 queens, they also offer a room with a queen and a set of bunk beds. How fun for the kids!
If you need more room, there is also a deluxe room that sleeps up to 6 adults, or you can stay in one of the Villas or Cabins also offered at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Boulder Creek Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins feel just like home with a full kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, separate bedrooms, and a washer and dryer.
Location
Situated on Bay Lake, the location of the Wilderness Lodge allows guests easy access to the Magic Kingdom, as well as the Grand Floridian Resort, the Polynesian Resort, the Contemporary Resort, and Fort Wilderness. Take a ferry to the Magic Kingdom, Fort Wilderness, or the Contemporary Resort. From the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary Resort, you can take the monorail or ferry boats to the other Magic Kingdom area resorts. And at the end of the night, you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the boat dock.
Recreation
This is one resort that you’ll want to spend time at when you aren’t exploring the parks! Pilot your own adventure by renting a boat and heading out on the water. If fishing is more your thing, you can reel in some fun on a guided fishing excursion! There are also jogging trails and bike rentals if you want to explore the land around the resort. And we can’t forget about the campfire activities! Gather ’round as the sun goes down for old fashioned family fun as you roast marshmallows by a crackling fire. Such a great way to end your day.
