And you thought Disney was all castles, cruises, and princess films! Not true! Did you know that for a while now, Disney has been offering special excursions for the adventurer in you? It’s true. Adventures by Disney has included short, action-packed exploits for those of you who want to mix it up. And 2019 is proving to be one of their most entertaining years of late!
2019 promises to channel the inner Russell in you as you can now set off to explore with new stand-alone short excursion options provided through Adventures by Disney. Boston, London, and Vancouver have been added to the coming year and are sure to add a thrilling option to your next Disney vacation.
How They Work
As mentioned before, Short Escapes with Adventures by Disney are two to four-night getaways to exemplary locations around the globe. The adventures can be booked as stand-alone from other Disney vacation plan or as add-ons to DCL reservations and include notable landmarks, VIP experiences, hands-on exploration, and many other exciting details that only Disney can offer. So, like any adventurer (without haste or caution), let’s break down the new additions for 2019!
Best of Boston – Past and Present
Are you a National Treasure fan? This one’s for you! Experience American history like no one else could tell it (except maybe the founding fathers) on a four or three-night excursion through the city of Boston. The legendary city offers wonderful and colorful stories regarding the American Revolution, to be told, through guided tours of the Old North Church and along the Freedom Trail. Enjoy a scenic row down the Charles River, do some biking, or explore the grounds at Harvard. And what would a trip to Boston be without a tea party? Enjoy a special, after-hours event held at the Boston Tea Parties Ships and Museum (special seafood dinner included).
This new addition to Short Escapes is only available on select dates from May through October of 2019!
Bucket List Getaway London
Boat rides down the River Thames, guided tours of Westminster Abbey, or witness the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Sound like a great vacation? This new two to three night stand-alone or add-on (DCL) has your name written all over it.
On select dates in July, August, and September of 2019, this must-do excursion even includes a private viewing of the Crown Jewels led by the Tower of London’s own warden. That’s something not everyone gets to do! But thanks to Disney, you can!
City Highlights and Recreation in Vancouver
Riveting adventure and exceptional food are available for this two to three night Short Escape to Vancouver, Canada. Book it stand-alone or as a perfect addition to your Disney Cruise to Alaska.
Guests of the excursion can expect lots of exciting fun as they zip line and explore in gondolas over the vast wilderness of Grouse Mountain. Chances are you’ve seen the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park at some point in your life! Take a guided tour! After you’ve finished, take a walking tour of the famed Granville Island and its public market. You’re sure to find something that’ll make your taste buds dance. While you’re wining and dining at the market, your Juinor Adventurers can enjoy a special scavenger hunt that is sure to please.
If that isn’t exciting enough, guests are also (safely we might add) treated to a guided, educational Grizzly bear experience in the early morning at Grousemountain’ss bear habitat, complete with amazing views, up close bear encounters, and breakfast. Photo ops abound with lumberjacks, totem poles, and fabulous birds of prey. Sounds like a blast, eh?
This short escape is offered in 2019 on select dates May through September.
It’s certainly true that Disney offers something for everyone. If parks and cruises aren’t your thing, or you just don’t want the fun to end, book a stand-alone or add-on short escape to your 2019 itinerary. And as an adventure is always out there, Disney has given you the chance to explore it even further with their new short escape additions to 2019.
