The secret is out! The new baby white rhino born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom a few months ago just revealed his name!
You might remember watching his mom Kendi on the Disney+ show “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom,” where you followed her pregnancy story. And now the baby is here, healthy and with a new name.
His name is Ranger! In honor of the wildlife rangers who protect rhinos around the world, we love it!
Did you know rhinos are the world’s second largest land animal and among the most endangered animals in the wild due to poaching? That’s why we are happy to have Disney Conservation Fund that supports rhino conservation.
This organization has also given more then 75 grants and awards to rhino protection projects, for example they gave Sgt. Mutinda Ndivo with the Big Life Foundation, a Disney Conservation Hero award for his work to protect rhinos and other wildlife in more then 1.6 million acres of wilderness in East Africa!
But Ranger is not the only new baby at Walt Disney World, a new baby pony was born at Tri-Circle D Ranch a few days ago and his name is Obie!
The cute pony will join his sister Lilly and their father on Cinderella’s pumpkin coach in parades and Disney’s Fairytale Weddings throughout the resort.
So keep an eye out for Ranger and Obie on your next visit to Disney World!
