With the ability to order thousands of items all throughout the parks it’s hard to believe the rumors of secret menu items located in Walt Disney World. It’s true, though! Located throughout the parks and resorts are secret menus that you can ask for at select locations.
However, it’s not as easy as it sounds! The concept seems simple, you enter a restaurant and ask for a secret menu, right? Well sort of. A secret menu is up to the chef, which means the secret items are not on display for all to order AND the location and availability are prone to change.
Disney has basically made the secret menus out to be a special scavenger hunt for Disney-goers. The prize? Rare treats for guests that contain recipes that are “a bit too exotic” for guests with regular palates. Instead, the secret items tend to be more for the adventurous foodies seeking something a little more “extra”.
Since the locations change, I can’t tell you exactly where to find these items, but we did find a way that may keep you in the loop. One of the best ways to monitor secret menu items is through Instagram. With Instagram being one of the biggest social media platforms in the world right now, it should be no surprise that there is a hashtag for EVERYTHING. Food lovers have created a few hashtags that you will want to follow if you want a few hints on where to find the secret menus. The tags #DisneySecrets, #DisneySecretMenu, and #DisneySecretMenuDrinks are all the go-to hashtags to follow.
Festivals are also a great place to find secret items. Often, chefs will add a few exclusive recipes onto the secret menu for those who frequent festivals, such as the Food and Wine Festival starting soon!
The best place to find a secret menu is the World Premiere Food Court located at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. It seems as if their secret menu is always available, possibly because this is no ordinary secret menu. When you ask for the secret menu at this food court a Disney cast member will retrieve a briefcase, but it’s what is inside the briefcase that makes this experience so fun! The menu is on an old repurposed Viewmaster! You select the items you want to purchase from the pictures on the Viewmaster, how cool is that?!
In addition to World Premiere Food Court, the following locations are known to have had secret menu items at one point: Casey’s Corner, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, D-Luxe Burger, Kona Café, Pecos Bills, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, and more!
