Today is National Gingerbread House Day! So what better way to celebrate it then by visiting the magical gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World resorts!
Cast members have been adding some sweet magic to disney hotels with stunning displays filled with sugar and spice and even some 50th anniversary details. Let’s take a look at them:
GINGERBREAD HOUSE AT DISNEY’S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT AND SPA
The most iconic and classic gingerbread display is without a doubt at the Grand Floridian Resort, this house if filled with jolly details like gingerbread shingles and custom hand-painted character windows to elaborate EARidescent landscapes and handcrafted sugar flowers! It’s seriously stunning!
“We know the gingerbread displays mean so much to our guests” mentioned pastry chef assistant John Dettman. “This year, our team wanted our guests to be immersed in the 50th anniversary celebration. We incorporated EARidescent hues into our hand painted character windows and pastry chef assistant Fabiola Vidal Vazquez eve applied cocoa butter EARidescent airbrush to our landscape plants and flowers.”

GINGERBREAD CAROUSEL AT DISNEY’S BEACH CLUB RESORT
As you might know, each year we look forward to the new theme for the famous gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club Resort, this year cast member surprised us with a “The Little Mermaid” theme!
Cast members created 5 detailed horses depicting some characters from the movie! This is a great way for them to bring storytelling to life and we are loving it!
“The gingerbread display is a team effort” mentioned Jesse Rodriguez, a pastry chef assistant. “We all pitch ideas and add our own elements and talents to create something special for our guests. We have so much fun and see first-hand how much the guests enjoy what we have created.”
If you play close attention, you will see how the carousel includes a special nod to the 50th anniversary celebration with handmade snowflakes on the carousel topper and shimmering mini ornaments. So cute!
THE AMERICAN ADVENTURE GINGERBREAD DISPLAY AT EPCOT
You have to stop by the American pavilion at Epcot during your next visit and check out the stunning gingerbread displays:
- The Lincoln Memorial
- The American Adventure
- The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
“Our gingerbread displays are very detailed, and we are as accurate as we can be to the original structures they are based on” mentioned Agueda Vasquez, a pastry chef assistant. “It’s just so great to see the guests faces when they walk into the room and admire the amount of time and detail we put into these tiny structures.”
Each display also feature a Walt Disney World 50th anniversary plaque in honor of the big celebration.
