Does Disney World Charge a Fee if There are More Than Two Adults Per Guest Room?

Q: Is it true that Disney World charges a fee if there are more than two adults per guest room. If so, how much do they charge?

A: This is absolutely true. For those researching the costs of planning a Walt Disney World getaway, you may have noticed when looking at resorts that Disney mentions that per person fees may apply if there are more than two adults staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Room.

The first two adults in a room (and by adult, I mean anyone 18 or older) and any children are automatically factored into the cost of your resort nightly stay. However, if you are travelling as a group of adults or bringing grandma along to stay with your family, you may notice that the rates do go up slightly. This is as a result of the following fees for extra adults:

Value Resorts – a per person fee of $15 per night
Moderate Resorts – a per person fee of $25 per night
Deluxe Resorts – a per person fee of $35 per night

The only exceptions to this rule are Disney’s Deluxe Villa Resorts as well as Disney’s Family Suites like those at Art of Animation or All Star Music.

Is this new? No. This is quite a common practice in the hotel industry and Disney has been charging fees for extra adults for quite some time. However, the fees did increase at the beginning of January 2018.

When do these fees get added in? If you are traveling with more than 2 adults, these fees are automatically added in during the quoting process. That is why for larger groups booking adjoining rooms, you may notice fluctuations in the room rate from room to room based on the number of adults.
