  • Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious: The Making of ‘Mary Poppins’ (2004) – If you’re a fan of the 1964 classic, add this behind-the-scenes documentary to your must-watch list. Up until 2004, some of this film’s footage had never been seen before. The documentary gives a unique view of what went on during filming.
  • Prop Culture – Season 1, Episode 1: Mary Poppins (2020) – Originally on Disney+, Prop Culture delved into some iconic Disney Props. For their first episode, they highlighted one of the most iconic Disney films: Mary Poppins, of course! In the series, they discussed some pretty special props from the film such as Carousel Horses and a snow globe that would sit right on top of Walt’s Piano.
  • The Boys (2009) – If you are even the tiniest Disney fans and haven’t seen ‘The Boys’, I cannot recommend it enough. Not only do you see some incredible behind-the-scenes storytelling, but you get to learn about the immense and unstoppable talent of the Sherman Brothers. Robert and Richard are not only known for their music in Mary Poppins, but throughout other Disney films and the parks as well! I hope this will convince you to add this treasure trove of a documentary to your must-watch list!
  • The Simpsons – Season 8, Episode 13: Simpsoncalifragilisticexpialad’ohcious (1997) – I could list quite a few pop-culture shows and films that have mentioned Mary Poppins but, per usual, the Simpsons did it best! Marge is struggling to take care of the home and is at her wit’s end when a cleverly named “Sherry Bobbins” comes to the rescue. Enjoy all the honorable mentions!
  • Mary Poppins Returns (2018) – When Disney comes out with a sequel, don’t consider it an attempted replacement – but an ode to the classic! Directed by Rob Marshall and featuring Emily Blunt, Mary Poppins Returns is simply a similar tale based on a classic story. We hope you give this modern-day telling a try and enjoy it for what it is!
  • Saving Mr. Banks (2013) – Tom Hanks as Walt Disney? Is there anything that man hasn’t done? Directed by John Lee Hancock, Saving Mr. Banks talks about Mary Poppins and how instrumental it was in bringing Disney back to the forefront.
