You have found that special person and you are ready to make your own “Happily Ever After”. You know you want to pop the question and make it official and you even know where you want to do it. The question is – HOW do you propose at Walt Disney World?
The short answer here is to be creative and do what you feel works best for you. You can create your own magic and make that special memory. However, there are some great spots and resources that you can utilize to make that moment even more romantic and special.
The biggest tip that I can give if you are planning a special proposal is to try and reach out to the cast members to ask for help. For example, the Disney PhotoPass photographers are great for capturing those special moments. Cast members at any of the restaurants and throughout the park may be able to help too, depending on what you are looking for.
Here are a few spots where, in my opinion, it would be great to pop the question!
- Cinderella’s Royal Table
At Cinderella’s Royal Table, you eat your meal inside Cinderella Castle. It is one of the only ways to go inside the castle. You also get to dine while meeting some of the Disney Princesses. At this restaurant, you can also add enhancements to celebrate your special occasion. For example, the Glass Slipper Enhancement includes signature dining for two, a glass slipper on a bed of rose petals, special desserts and a celebratory toast! The moment will also be captured by a Disney PhotoPass Photographer. To do this, guests need to contact the special events office at least 3 days in advance.
- In front of Cinderella Castle
This is probably the most iconic spot for a marriage proposal. If you are looking for a classic location, this is certainly one place to go. Whether you choose to kneel by the Partners Statue, or right in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. there will be PhotoPass photographers to capture that memory and a lot of people to cheer you on! If you are looking for a quieter spot, you may also consider the Cinderella Wishing Well.
- During any fireworks show
My first choice here would, of course, be “Happily Ever After” at the Magic Kingdom. However, you could easily create a magical memory at any of the fireworks show. If your special someone is a Star Wars fan or loves Epcot, each park offers fireworks. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there is also a nighttime show.
- At A Character Meet and Greet
Why not have Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse or one of your favorite characters get involved in the surprise? Plus, there are Disney PhotoPass photographers at most of the character meet and greets. Try to mention to one of the cast members when you arrive and hopefully, you can create a little magic!
- Along the Disney Boardwalk
If you are looking for a quiet spot with a picturesque view, the Disney Boardwalk is the place to be. You could sit in the beach chairs or the swing near Disney’s Beach Club Resort or walk toward Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and find several restaurants and even some night life.
This is certainly not a comprehensive list and I think there are many opportunities to be creative and unique throughout Walt Disney World. There are several great restaurants that would also be perfect for a marriage proposal. I think planning that special occasion depends on what you like as a couple, whether there are sentimental aspects that you want to incorporate, etc. Again, don’t be afraid to talk to a cast member as you walk into that character meet and greet or the PhotoPass photographer as you pose for the perfect picture. There are certainly several options to create some Disney romance and don’t forget, Walt Disney World is a great place for a honeymoon too!
