I am often asked for ideas on what would be a nice, inexpensive gift to give someone for their upcoming Disney World vacation. Whether it’s for your own family, other family members or friends, you don’t need to go overboard in order to give a little something that will come in handy while at Disney. Here are some of my tried and true items.
Disney Gift Cards
You can find Disney gift cards at your local grocery story, Target, WalMart and even online directly from the Disney Store. They can start in denominations as low as $25. Disney gift cards can be used at Disney theme parks, Disney Cruise Line and at The Disney Store.
One of my favorite gifts is an autograph book for all the character interactions. I usually buy the one below on the Disney Store website and pair it with a fat pen like a Sharpie to make it easy for the characters to sign. I really like the Sharpie pens that are also retractable. That way you don’t have to worry about losing the cap.
Since you normally will spend some time in a pool at Disney World, swimsuits are a great gift for kids. Find out their favorite character or movie and you will most likely be able to find something in that theme online.
I am a huge proponent of hand sanitizer. After autograph books, it’s probably the item I give most often. I like to find the kind that you can clip to your park bag for easy access.
Let’s face it. It can rain a lot in Florida. I always have some inexpensive ponchos that I throw in my park bag – just in case. You can pick them up in a local dollar store or if you want something that’s a bit higher quality, or cuter, you can find them to purchase online.
Cute, easy to read Disney books are a great gift. Kids can read them to get excited for their upcoming trip and they also keep them occupied on a flight or long car ride.
For meet and greets with the characters, nothing is more fun than the kids dressing up in costumes of their favorite princess or character. This makes for even more adorable photos.
This is a great option to keep cool in the hot Florida weather. There are several different kinds, including simple hand-held ones, misting fans or even ones that can clip to a stroller. The ones pictured below have soft blades so little fingers are safe.
This is a fantastic gift for any age and there are so many to choose from. Anyone would love to receive a cute pair of Mickey ears!
