As guests at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you go for the food, the costumes, the parades and the fireworks. But, let’s not forget another huge draw, the characters! Each year special Disney friends join in the fun Autumnal festivities making it the perfect time to get that rare autograph or snap that special Halloween photo. However, with all of the excitement that happens during party time, knowing where to find these special characters can be a tricky business. So here’s a rundown of characters that come out at party time and where to find them.
Liberty Square:
Jack Skellington & Sally – Definitely the big draw at each party, you’ll find Jack and Sally greeting guests in the Gazebo behind the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square. They are out for the duration of the party. However, guests hoping to get their photo snapped with the couple should line-up very early. This meet and greet tends to have the longest lines you’ll find at the party.
Adventureland:
Moana – Moana is such a popular character right now that this is another meet and greet during the Halloween Party that is destined to have long lines. You’ll find her near the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse for the duration of the party. If meeting her is high on your priority list then head there first and get in line.
Tarzan and Jane – You’ll find this lovely couple (and maybe even Terk) as you enter Adventureland. However, we noticed during a recent visit that they were only out for a short while in the evening (from around 7pm until a little before 8pm) so catch them while you can!
Aladdin, Abu, Genie Jasmine – You can typically find Aladdin and Jasmine in the Agrabah Bazaar near the Flying Carpets of Aladdin. However, at Halloween, they have been known to bring along a friend or two. So stop by during party hours. You never know who you’ll bump into! The hours for this meet and greet are limited. They tend to be out around the same time as Tarzan and Jane so pop by around 7:00 and say “Hi.”
Jafar – Our sources tell us that Jafar is set up in a slightly different location this year near as you start to enter Adventureland and just after you pass Trazan. So if you don’t see him near Aladdin look for him here! Like Tarzan and Jasmine, Jafar also tends to wrap up early. So between 7-8 is best to catch him.
Fantasyland:
Cruella DeVil – Again the line for this much-loved Disney baddie can be crazy so if it’s a must-do, make it a priority. You’ll find Cruella in Storybook Circus near Casey Jr. Splash n Soak Station and the Fantasyland Train Station. Cruella is around for a shorter period than some of the others and seemed to wrap up around 8:00pm.
Seven Dwarfs – Just next to Cruella you’ll find this popular Meet and Greet with all Seven Dwarfs. Lines for this can get pretty long as well but the snapshot you’ll get definitely makes it worth it! These guys tend to be out a lot longer than Cruella so if the lines look too long, you can always try and pop back late in the evening.
Queen of Hearts, Alice, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum – If Queen of Hearts is one of your favorite baddies then you’ll definitely want to head over to the area near the Mad Tea Party to say hello to her and some of her Wonderland cohorts. The Villains can always bring in a crowd so allow yourself plenty of time to join the queue and stop out during the first few hours of the party to catch her.
Ariel and Eric – Though Ariel always holds court in her Grotto at Fantasyland, visitors for the Halloween party are in for a special treat as Prince Eric is by her side on party nights. This is a popular couple to be snapped with so expect longer than average lines.
Tomorrowland:
Lotso – Party Disney baddie, part snuggly bear, you’ll find Lotso greeting guests near Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. Lotso doesn’t come out very often but when he does he’s very popular so be prepared for waits.
In addition to these meet and great heavy hitters, you’ll also find some of the usual Disney characters out for the party in and around their usual locations, these include:
Fantasyland
- Anastasia and Drizella – Near the gates to New Fantasyland
- Belle and Gaston – Gaston’s Tavern
- Cinderella – Princess Fairytale Hall
- Daisy – Storybook Circus
- Donald – Storybook Circus
- Princess Elena – Princess Fairytale Hall
- Goofy – Storybook Circus
- Minnie Mouse – Storybook Circus
- Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger – Crystal Palace
- Rapunzel – Princess Fairytale Hall
- Princess Tiana – Princess Fairytale Hall
Adventureland:
- Captain Jack Sparrow – Near Pirates of the Caribbean
Main Street, U.S.A.
- Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater
The lines for these common Disney characters don’t tend to be as long as some of the exclusive seasonal meet and greets so they are better at squeezing in and around parades, stage shows and attractions.
