What are the Best Days to Visit Each Park at WDW

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World but only have a few days to visit the parks?  Are you unsure which days are the best days to visit each park at Walt Disney World?  We are here to break it all down for you in one place.

Of course, we need to start by first saying this isn’t exactly easy to pinpoint as there are many factors to consider.  For instance, is there a festival such as the Festival of the Holidays currently taking place in Epcot or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party currently taking place select nights in the Magic Kingdom.

However, with all of that aside there are days that are proving to be the best days to visit each of the four parks.

Magic Kingdom

Entrance to Adventureland

The Magic Kingdom, even though is a big park, tends to see a lot of traffic throughout the day let alone week!  Believe it or not, there are still two days that are statistically the best days to visit this magnificent park.  Weirdly enough, these two days are Tuesday and Thursday.  Tuesday I completely understand.  Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday make sense that they are busy.  These are all technically “weekend” days, meaning people take off an extra day of work to extend their weekends.  Which then leads into Tuesday when most people are back to work.  What tricked me was seeing Thursday as the next best day and not Wednesday.  Could it be that people are having mid-week of playing hooky from work leaving Wednesday busy?  While I’m not sure the actual answer, it is still great to see at least two days that prove to be a lower crowd day.

Pro tip:  When you make it to the Magic Kingdom, head towards Adventureland or Frontierland for fewer crowds.  Typically the crowds tend to head straight towards Fantasyland for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or towards Tomorrowland for Space Mountain.  Instead, Fastpass+ those popular attractions and head towards Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain or Pirates of the Caribbean where you can board those attractions quickly before the crowd makes it to those areas.

Epcot

Epcot is another large park that can accommodate large crowds.  Even though this park is currently under a lot of construction, there is still plenty to do and see!  Surprisingly there is only one day that statistically proves to be the lowest crowd day at Epcot, which is Wednesday.  Maybe because everyone is at the Magic Kingdom?  Not sure, but seems interesting.  If I was playing hooky from work, I would be at Epcot drinking around the world, but that’s me!

Pro tip: Fastpass+ Test Track, Soarin or Frozen Ever After.  These are popular attractions causing lines to build quickly, you may have to go multiple days in order to Fastpass all of these attractions.  Once the world showcase opens start towards the left in Mexico or start in the middle of the showcase and heads back towards Mexico before continuing onto Canada.  Typically the crowd starts towards the right in Canada.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios has become a popular park with the new additions of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.  Lately, there has been no downtime in the park.  However, statistically, the slowest days in Hollywood Studios currently are Wednesdays and Fridays.  Wednesdays I believe, however, I think the numbers need to be run again for Friday.  Again, with the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, Friday may no longer be a viable option.  I would shoot for a Wednesday for the best days to visit this park.

Pro Tip: Currently Star Wars: Millennium Falcon and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance are not offering Fastpass+ reservations.  Due to this, the crowds head straight to Galaxy’s Edge.  If you are not interested in these attractions you can head straight to Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster and be able to get on no problem.  If you are interested in Star Wars, you will need to head straight to that area of the park.

Animal Kingdom

I am always shocked that most people say they dislike the Animal Kingdom.  I become more in love with this park every time I visit.  There are three days that are the best days to visit Animal Kingdom; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Sadly, I don’t have much to say as I am not surprised since most people don’t visit this park as frequently as they should.  Here is the “do not miss list” we recently wrote about Animal Kingdom.

Pro tip:  Fastpass+ Pandora-Flight of Passage or Expedition Everest.  Crowds head straight to these areas causing the lines to grow long early in the day and continue throughout the day.

There you have it!  Your best days to visit each park at Walt Disney World.
