It amazes me that some adults still see Disney World as a place just for kids. Perhaps it is because these adults have never taken a trip to Disney sans kids? I’m here to tell you, Disney without children is a whole different experience! In the past few years, I’ve started taking more and more adult-only and girls trips to Disney. If you haven’t experienced this for yourself, you are missing out! I am a firm believer that every grown woman should take a girl’s trip to Disney without kids. Here are my top reasons:
You will laugh until your stomach hurts- I am not exaggerating! Everything is just more fun when you are with your close friends! We all know mishaps will happen on any vacation, but when you are without children the mishaps can be hilarious! For instance, dropping your dole whip on the ground after one bite. To a child a situation such as that would no doubt lead to a stage 4 meltdown- but for some reason, you and your friends will find it hilarious! Your trip will be full of memories and “inside jokes” you will talk about for years to come. There is such a lighthearted feeling to be amongst friends visiting the most magical place on Earth.
You can do whatever YOU want- If you’d rather lay by the resort pool or sleep until 12 rather than get up at 6 am for a character breakfast, you can! The beauty of a girls trip is that it will actually be a vacation! You can come and go at your own pace! If you want to ride every thrilling attraction and skip the kiddie rides- you can! You can eat when and where you want and spend as little or as much as you want. When I am on a girl’s trip, I actually feel a sense of freedom! I do not have to take care of anyone but myself! Sometimes, the days with the fewest plans can turn out to be the very best days!
YOU can be a kid again!- This year has been especially hard on everyone. Maybe you were laid off, maybe you had to deal with children unable to attend in-person school? We have all faced challenges this past year due to the pandemic and all deserve a break. When you visit a special place like Disney with your friends, YOU get to relive childhood and feel like you are a child again. Go ahead and wear your Minnie ears or Disneybound as your favorite character! Eat l all of the snacks and drink all of the delicious drinks! Hakuna Matata!
Seriously, you haven’t experienced Disney magic until you have a girl’s trip! I hope if a girls-only trip wasn’t already on your Disney bucket list– it is now!
