How often do you travel to Walt Disney World Resort? Do you miss Disney the second you start heading back home after a trip? Well, you might want to consider moving near the Magic!
Living near Disney World is a dream lifestyle for many Disney Park enthusiasts. To be an Annual Passholder and go to the theme parks without needing to plan a vacation. Some of us have made the move to Orlando area, too. Sure, it’s certainly an adjustment if you’re moving to Florida from out of state, but isn’t it great to pursue your lifestyle of choice?
A big factor in moving in is determining what kind of lifestyle you wish to have for everyday life. You can enjoy more than just the theme parks in Orlando. There’s the warm weather, swimming pools, lakes for boating or fishing, and festive arts to name a few options. You’re also close to Cocoa Beach and can travel anywhere within the state of Florida in less than a few hours.
The Orlando area is also big on community, too. You’ll find many welcoming communities for people looking to move to Central Florida. A great thing about the area is that you’ll meet new Disney friends! It’s great to be able to enjoy the special events available at Disney Resorts when you dine there, plus you have so many other entertainment options on property.
Local Communities
Not sure where to move to? Below are several places to consider near Walt Disney World Resort:
- Celebration
- Winter Garden
- Kissimmee
- Windermere
- Doctor Phillips section of Orlando
- Horizon West
All of these are wonderful residential communities with schools, businesses, and restaurant/entertainment options outside of Disney. Each area offers a different community lifestyle. You’ll find various single-family homes, townhomes, and apartment complexes.
Of course, there’s always Downtown Orlando if you prefer to live in the city. But these towns or communities are among the closest to Disney Resort property. However, there is a very exclusive opportunity to live on Disney property at Golden Oak.
Golden Oak
Golden Oak is a Disney Resort community located inside Walt Disney World Resort. Many people drive by the community entrance while traveling to Magic Kingdom. It’s incredible to be able to enjoy a luxury home without need to leave the Disney Resort property.
The Golden Oak neighborhood, was inspired by Walt Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch in Newhall, California. The ranch was a filming location for segments of the Mickey Mouse Club in the 1950s and received its name when some say gold was discovered under an oak tree in the mid 1800s. After “tremendous interest,” Disney Imagineers worked together to design the 980-acre neighborhood. There are almost 300 hundreds on the site of Golden Oak.
Homes start in the mid-$2 million range and go up. Way up. The largest residence onsite is about 20,000 square feet. However, the home we are showing today is listed at $8.45 million and has over 9,050 square feet!
Do you wish you could live in the Golden Oak community at Walt Disney World Resort? Maybe one day your wish will come true!
Unfortunately, you won’t ever see Cinderella Castle show as available on the housing market. But you could find a new life living outside of Disney’s theme parks.
