In case you haven’t heard, Disney World has officially released ticket for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which will run throughout the Autumn. This special hard-ticketed event is jam-packed with spooky festivities making it one of Magic Kingdom’s must-do events of the Fall. If you’re thinking about planning a visit during this festive time or are on the fence about getting party tickets, here are 10 reasons why we’re convinced you’ll love this Halloween bash as much as we do!
1. Even more opportunities to join in on the fun! – Can’t make it to Disney World during the month of October? No problem. The party schedule this year definitely favors the Early Birds with the first party taking place on the 17th of August. It’s the perfect opportunity to squeeze in a Halloween-themed visit before the start of the school year. Here’s the complete list of dates for this year’s soiree.

2. Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular – If you’re a fan of the Sanderson Sisters from the film Hocus Pocus or prefer Maleficent to Mickey Mouse than this is the stage show for you! This all-singing all-dancing production is held at select times throughout the party at the Castle Forecourt Stage. Winifred, Mary and Sarah decide to use their magic to conjure up some of Disney’s more formidable baddies including Dr Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and more!
3. Happy Hallowishes – End the evening on a spooktacular note with Magic Kingdom’s Halloween-inspired fireworks display. This remarkable pyrotechnic spectacular is emceed by the Ghost Host from Haunted Mansion and is set to a rousing soundtrack featuring creepy tunes like “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” from the Haunted Mansions, “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” from “The Little Mermaid and “Oogie Boogie’s Song” from The Nightmare Before Christmas just to name a few.
4. Trick-or-Treating – What’s better than going door-to-door in your neighborhood collecting sweets? How about trick-or-treating through the Magic Kingdom! At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guest get a trick-or-treat bag upon check-in which you can fill with goodies at candy stations throughout the park! You’ll be absolutely amazed at how much loot you’ll amass during your evening!
5. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade – Grim Grinning Ghosts, Disney Villains and a handful of other much-loved characters come out to socialize during this spooky Halloween-themed parade. The event kicks off with an ominous appearance by the Headless Horseman and includes many of the happy (and not so happy) haunts that call the Haunted Mansion home from waltzing spirits to Hitchhiking Ghosts. The parade typically takes place twice on party nights so there’s ample opportunity to get in on the fun!
6. Special Character Meet and Greets – If one of your favorite things about visiting Disney World is having your photo snapped with some of your favorite Disney friends than the Halloween Party provides the perfect opportunity. Special characters come out only during party nights including Jack Skellington & Sally, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Jafar, Cruella de Vil and so much more. You never know who will be lurking right around the corner!
7. Halloween Costumes – This is one of the only times during the year where visitors to Walt Disney World are encouraged to don their favorite costumes and head out for an evening of spooky fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to dress up like one of your favorite Disney characters. With tickets and dates released super early this year, it means that you have plenty of time to put together the perfect get-up.
8. The chance to try delicious Halloween-inspired Treats – Each year, the culinary teams over at the Magic Kingdom pull out all the stops with an incredible array of Halloween-inspired treats. From candy corn ice cream to pumpkin flavored Mickey waffles, the possibilities are endless. Be sure to keep following along with Disney Addicts to see what special goodies are unveiled for this year’s festivities and definitely be sure to bring your appetites come party time.
9. Dance the night away at the Scream-O-Ween Ball – If you’re heading to this year’s Halloween Party be sure to bring your dancing shoes and stop by Tomorrowland form the Monsters, Inc. inspired Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball dance party located at the Rockettower Plaza Stage. Its the perfect way to burn off that late night energy!
10. Capture the moment with spooky photo ops – Preserve those Magic Kingdom Halloween memories with a Memory Maker and PhotoPass. Each year during Mickey’s Not-S0-Scary Halloween Party Disney unveils specially themed magic shots with a few festive details thrown in. From Hitchhiking Ghosts to the Headless Horseman you never know who will show up in your snaps!
