We all seem to be going into the unknown lately with Disney parks and resorts across the globe closing for their most extended stretches ever. More and more people are stuck at home as we practice social distancing and self-quarantining. So, what can we do while the parks are closed? Here are a few ideas to keep the Disney magic alive while stuck at home!
Watch Ride Videos
Nothing can completely replicate the feeling of riding a Disney theme park attraction. The next best thing is ride-through videos online! There are so many videos to choose from on YouTube. You almost feel as if you are on the ride. Put the videos on in the background as you go about your day. The good Disney vibes will enter your subconscious and help you feel better!
Bake a Disney Treat
Disney parks have some of the best and most memorable eats and treats! Luckily for us, Pinterest exists! There are so many copy-cat recipes online, not to mention the Disney cookbooks you can purchase. D23 has even posted dozens of actual Disney restaurant recipes on their site. I am planning on making at least 2 or 3 Disney recipes with my kids while they are home from school. You definitely should try some too!
Learn About Disney
I am a huge fan of all things Disney history. I love backstories and behind-the-scenes information. There are all kinds of books about Walt Disney, the Disney theme parks, Imagineering, etc. If you can’t check out books from your library, see if your library offers eBooks. There are also some cool videos on YouTube like a video series called Imagineering in a Box. It’s a remarkable video series that demonstrates how much thought cast members put into all aspects of the parks.
Plan Your Next Disney Vacation
With all the uncertainty, you might be wondering why this is on our list. For the first time ever, Disney parks around the world aren’t open for business. For this reason, casual Disney fans aren’t thinking about the parks. When you’re not at the parks, fantasizing about your next vacation can help you get through the day. AND you have this unique chance to do your due diligence to plan it all. I strongly recommend speaking to an authorized Disney planner to start planning your trip.
Binge Disney+
Disney+ launched just in time! Disney+ is one of the best ways to combine your need for entertainment with the desire to fill the void of closed theme parks. With so many classic films and shows as well as new blockbuster movies on Disney+, you won’t run out of things to watch any time soon! Also, check out some great shows to binge on Disney+ here.
