Many of us around the country are doing our part during this pandemic and practicing social distancing. Our beloved theme parks are temporarily closed, and many of us had to cancel or reschedule planned trips. I know I can not wait to get back to Disney once they reopen and I’ll probably head straight to Epcot because I will be in dire need of one (or all) of my favorite drinks! As I sit here dreaming of walking the world, I would like to share with you some of my all-time favorite World Showcase cocktails, and how to make them! We may not be able to physically be in our special place- but we can bring some Disney into our homes! Here are 8 of my all-time favorite World Showcase cocktails!
1. Welsh Dragon- This delicious and refreshing green glass of goodness can be found in the UK Pavillion at Rose & Crown Pub. It is definitely on the sweeter side and goes down oh so easily.
Ingredients-
- 3/4 oz. peach schnapps
- 3/4 oz. melon liqueur
- 1/2 oz. creme de menthe
- to taste orange juice
- to taste pineapple juice
Directions-
Mix all ingredients together in a shaker, blend well, pour over ice
2. Leaping Leprechaun- Another tasty green treat from the UK’s Rose & Crown Pub, this one is just as good yet a little less sweet than the Welsh Dragon-and can really pack a punch!
Ingredients-
- 1 part rum
- 1 part vodka
- 1 part Irish Whiskey
- 2 parts sweet and sour mix
- 3 parts Sprite
Directions-
Place in a shaker, pour over ice and top with Sprite
3. Tokyo Sunset- This delicious and tropical cocktail can be found at a kiosk inside the Japan Pavillion. You will feel like you’re sitting on a beach once this fruity concoction hits your lips.
Ingredients-
- 1 part coconut rum
- 1 part peach schnapps
- 1 part banana liqueur
- 3 parts pineapple juice
- drizzle of grenadine
Directions-
Place all ingredients except for grenadine in a shaker, pour over ice, garnish with a drizzle of grenadine
4. Grand Marnier Slush- This citrus slush favorite can be found at a kiosk inside the France Pavillion. This adult slushie is delicious and refreshing!
Ingredients-
- 1 part Grey Goose Vodka
- 1 part Grand Mariner
- 1 part simple syrup
- 2 parts sweet and sour mix
- ice
Directions-
Mix all liquid ingredients in a blender, add ice, blend until slush consistency
5. Avocado Margarita- This creamy and surprisingly sweet margarita is found inside the Mexico Pavilion at La Cava del Tequila. This drink is a fan favorite and once you try it you’ll see why!
Ingredients-
- 2 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz.melon liqueur
- 1 oz agave syrup
- 1/2 of 1 ripe avocado, pitted
- juice from one lime
- ice
Directions-
add all ingredients except the ice into a blender, blend until smooth, add ice and blend, can add a salt or chili lime salt rim to glass for garnish
6. Viking Coffee- The Viking Coffee is an alcoholic coffee beverage that can be found in the Norway Pavillion at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. This drink can be enjoyed hot or over ice and is the perfect mid-day pick me up and goes great with the bakery’s famous school bread!
Ingredients-
- 6 parts fresh-brewed coffee
- 1 part Irish cream liqueur
- 1 part coffee liqueur
Directions-
pour liqueurs into a cup of fresh coffee, or over ice, if desired
7. Canto Loopy- Get a little “loopy” with this fruity drink found in the China Pavillion. This one may require a little extra work, as you’ll need fresh cantaloupe juice, but it will be worth it!
Ingredients-
- 2 oz vodka
- 4 oz fresh cantaloupe juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- 1/4 oz fresh lime juice
- mint garnish
Directions- Juice cantaloupe juice by either using a juicer or blender (strain solids), add all ingredients except mint into a shaker, shake and strain into a glass of ice, garnish with fresh mint
8. Tangier’s Breeze- This light, tropical beverage can be found at Restaurant Marrakesh, located inside of the Morrocco Pavillion.
Ingredients-
- 1 part peach vodka
- 1 part melon liqueur
- 3 parts pineapple juice
Directions- pour ingredients into a shaker, pour over ice and serve
I can not wait to get back to Epcot and the World Showcase, but for now, my local liquor store and home will have to do! What is your favorite drink at Epcot?
