Walt Disney World accommodations come in 5 different categories (deluxe villas, deluxe, moderate, value, and campground). Value Resorts are perfect for budget-conscious families as well as they are all very kid friendly focused.
These resorts have elaborate, larger than life theming in the common areas and more basic rooms with primarily double beds. Value Resorts also offer only quick service dining, each with its own food court. When staying at a value resort you get all of the same great perks of staying on-property such as, the ability to charge to your room and send packages from parks to your resort, Extra Magic Hours at one park per day, and complimentary transportation to and from all parks.
In total, there are 5 resorts in this category. Here are my top 3 Disney World Value Resorts:
#3 Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
The All-Star Movies Resort has 5 themes based on iconic Disney movies (Mighty Ducks, Love Bug, Fantasia, Toy Story, & 101 Dalmations) among 10 buildings with 1,920 rooms at 260 square feet each. This Value Resort showcases giant popcorn boxes and icons like Pongo from 101 Dalmations!

Movies Under the Stars
Guests get to watch complimentary screenings of Disney films! These take place on select nights at The Reel Spot, the outdoor seating location for World Premiere Food Court!
Room Refurbishments
The rooms at All-Star Movies have been undergoing refurbishments. A little over half of the resort is complete. With these updates the rooms got queen beds replacing the old double beds! One of the queen beds is a traditional bed; the other is a Murphy-style bed that converts into a table when not in use. You can read more about the resort refurbishments here.
I just love the fun theming at All-Star Movies! Who wouldn’t want to sleep next to a giant fire hydrant?!
#2 Disney’s Pop Century Resort
This Value Resort has 10 four-story motel style buildings around a central pool and food court.
Pop Century has 2,880 rooms with a standard size room at 260 square feet. If you are a fan of yo-yos, Play-Doh, Rubik’s Cubes, and rollerblades, this resort is for you! Take a trip down memory lane with theming from the 1950s through the 1990s.

#1 Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Art of Animation is a fun themed resort based on 4 classic Disney films: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.
This value resort opened in 2012 with 864 standard rooms and 1,120 suites. Plus, the standard rooms at Art of Animation are slightly larger than the other value resorts at 277 square feet and have either 2 double beds or 1 king bed. All of the standard rooms are The Little Mermaid themed and sleep 4. Perfect for your little princess!
