6 Snacks to Try with Your Disney World Dining Plan 1

Looking to get some bang for your buck with your Disney Dining Plan? Whether you’re on the Quick-Service Plan, Disney Dining Plan, or Deluxe Dining Plan, you’ll receive 2 snack credits per person per night. Sure, these credits can be used on things like water, popcorn, and the like. But we encourage you to be adventurous – as well as savvy! Browse the menu for items with the snack credit logo, and then look at the price. Try to order snacks around the $5 or more mark as these will be the biggest savings. Read on to learn about 6 snacks we found on our most recent trip that are a great value for guests!

1. Starbucks Drinks

Did you know that each park along with Disney Springs has a Starbucks location? You’ll find a variety of sweet treats to choose from along with your favorite caffeinated beverages. We suggest ordering the largest size drink available – a venti – as your snack credit. On my last trip, I ordered a venti caramel macchiato, which counted as a snack! It made my drink just that much sweeter.

2. Mickey-Shaped Foods

Mickey-shaped foods are, of course, in abundance when traveling to Walt Disney World! But some of those foods are an amazing snack credit value on Disney’s dining plans! From Mickey head cookies to Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls, you’ll definitely be able to find a Mickey treat that satisfies your craving! We suggest ordering a Mickey pretzel with cheese sauce, which could regularly run you about $6 if paying out of pocket. These can be found throughout the parks; so not only are they convenient to find, but they’re an amazing use of your snack credit!

3. Caramel Apples

I might cash in all of my snack credits on these delectable beauties! Caramel apples can be found year round at Disney World. Even better, at $6.29, they are a great choice for a midday (or midnight) snack! They come in both peanut and peanut-free varieties. You can also find many specialty caramel apples, although these don’t typically count as snack credits.

4. Ice Cream!

Who doesn’t LOVE ice cream, especially during the hot Florida summer months? Lucky for you, there are lots of ice cream treats that count as snack credits, including many at the famous Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. We suggest you check out Ample Hills Creamery, which is located on the BoardWalk and just an easy walk from the back entrance of Epcot. This relatively new ice cream spot that’s based in New York is SO GOOD. (We bet we’ll catch you making a second – or third – stop there!) Best of all, you can order a small sized cone (or cup), which is usually $5.49, and it’s covered as a snack credit! Thinking a small size won’t fill you up? It’s actually two HUGE scoops of ice cream, and you can pick any flavors you’d like! We recommend checking out the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake flavor, which features big chunks of their homemade butter cake. You’ll thank us later.

5. Karamell-Küche at Epcot

Head straight to the Germany Pavilion in Epcot, and order anything with a snack logo from the expansive case at Karamell-Küche, which is filled with goodness (and probably calories, but those don’t count at Disney World…). During this last trip, I tried the caramel pecan bar with a shortbread base, and it was divine. Plus, at over $5, it was a wonderful value as a snack. You’ll find lots of other treats here, too, including caramel clusters, German chocolate chip cookies, and caramel s’mores. One thing is for sure, you might cash in a few snack credits at this spot!

6. Dole Whip

Let’s face it. A trip to Disney World wouldn’t be complete without a Dole Whip! This beloved treat is now available at several locations around Walt Disney World Resort, but it’s roots are at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. Although this treat might be as big of a value as some other snack credits, we think it’s worth ordering. You can also try several varieties like the citrus swirl or Dole Whip float. Whatever you do, be sure to include this on your list of snacks to check out during your next Disney trip!

Are you hungry? Good. Then it might be time to start thinking about that next trip to Walt Disney World! Sure, the attractions are so much fun; but the snacks might be just as enjoyable!
