May the Fourth is coming up and you know what that means! Star Wars Day! Every Star Wars Day should be celebrated with delicious, Star Wars-inspired, food. Whether you are with the First Order or the Resistance, you are sure to enjoy these eats and treats. You won’t need the Force to help you make them, but a fork could help you eat them!

Chewbacca Hot Dogs- These Chewy-inspired hot dogs are wrapped in bacon, covered in a crunchy coating, and topped with delicious sauces perfect for every loyal co-pilot.

What you’ll need:

  • 6 hot dog buns
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Sour Cream

Toasted Panko Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt

Bacon Hot Dog Ingredients:

  • 6 hot dogs
  • 12 slices thin bacon

How to make them:

  1. In a pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and then add the panko, garlic powder, and salt. Toast until golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Wrap each hot dog with two slices of bacon, tucking in the ends to secure.
  3. Place the wrapped hot dogs in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until the bacon is cooked on all sides and the hot dogs are heated through.
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs into the buns. Add the toasted panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Add a strip of BBQ sauce diagonally across the hot dog to create the bandolier.
  6. Add small dollops of sour cream for the bandolier detailing.

Fruitsabers and Jedi Dip- This is the perfect healthy snack for your young Padawans!

What you’ll need:

  • 14 strawberries or about 1 ½ cups (makes two sabers)
  • 14-16 grapes or about 1 cup (makes two sabers)
  • 20 blackberries or about ¾ cup (makes two sabers)
  • 20 raspberries or about ¾ cup (makes two sabers)
  • 34 blueberries or about ½ cup (makes two sabers)
  • 10 10-inch thin skewers

Directions:

  1. Wash the fruit. Cut stems off of the strawberries.
  2. Skewer with fruit lengthwise with the largest part at the bottom.

Jedi Dip:

  • 2 cups no salt added low-fat cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup low-fat milk
  • ¼ cup 100 percent fruit strawberry spread or jam
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place cottage cheese, milk and fruit spread in a blender; process until smooth.
  2. Divide mixture into four small bowls. Lightly dust with cinnamon, if desired.
  3. Serve with Fruitsabers and dip in.

Green Milk Milkshakes- Blue Milk is the milk we usually associate with Star Wars, but Green Milk is just as tasty! This milkshake is the perfect beverage for any Star Wars Day celebration.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 glasses
  • 4 ounces white chocolate
  • 2 ounces silver sanding sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Whipped cream
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • Green food gel dye

How to make them:

  1. In a bowl, stir together the heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Stir in 1-2 drops of green food gel dye to get a light green color.
  3. Pour into loaf pan and freeze for 20-30 minutes. When the edges start to freeze, break up the ice cream by mixing it up.
  4. Return the pan to the freezer and repeat in 30 minutes, smoothing out the surface of the ice cream. Keep in the freezer until ready to use.
  5. In a small bowl, break up the white chocolate and microwave in 15 second intervals until melted and smooth. Dip the rims of the glasses into the white chocolate, then into the silver sanding sugar.
  6. Scoop the ice cream into a blender. Add ½ cup milk and blend until smooth but still frozen.
  7. Pour into the prepped glasses and top with whipped cream.

Chewy Chews- healthy snack perfect for those with the appetite of a Wookie!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 ripe, mashed bananas
  • 1 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup almond slivers
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • mini marshmallows

How to make them:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mash 2 ripe bananas, and place in bowl.
  3. Add in your oats, nuts, and chia seeds, and maple syrup folding it in with the bananas to combine.
  4. Spread on a large piece of parchment paper flat with a rubber spatula, and place it on a cookie sheet. Bake for 3 minutes.
  5. Remove the parchment paper from the pan, and using a circular cookie cutter, cut cookies into circles.
  6. While your cookies are cooling, cut mini marshmallows into fourths to make Chewbacca’s belt.
  7. Melt 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips by combining them in a bowl with 1 tsp of coconut oil.
  8. Place them in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir to melt, or stir and heat on low and on stovetop until melted.
  9. Pour melted chocolate in a piping bag.
  10. Using the piping bag, squeeze 3 chocolate drops to create the eyes and nose. Squeeze a curved line across the cookie to create Chewbacca’s mouth. Connect the mouth to the nose with a vertical line of chocolate.
  11. With slightly strong pressure, squeeze a stream of chocolate from the piping bag diagonally to create the belt.

Lightsaber Waffles- These lightsabers are just as fun as the real thing but a lot less dangerous! A great way to start any Star Wars day!

What you’ll need:

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, melted
  • White icing
  • Red icing2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2½ teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • Red food gel dye
  • Blue food gel dye

How to make them:

  1. Prep the waffle iron by greasing generously with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients then add the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Separate the batter equally into two bowls. Into one add a few drops of red gel dye until combined. In the second bowl, add the blue gel dye.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepped waffle maker, and cook until crisp.
  6. Cut the waffles into 4-inch long sticks.
  7. Dip the ends of the waffle sticks into the melted chocolate. Let set.
  8. Pipe white icing stripes and a red icing dot to create the handle details. Serve.
