With Disney’s Christopher Robin film opening in under two weeks, we thought we’d take a few minutes to celebrate all things Winnie the Pooh at Walt Disney World. If seeing the film makes you nostalgic for all of your wonderful friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, then here are a few ways that you can add a bit of Winnie the Pooh to your upcoming visit!
1. Meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in Fantasyland – From about 10:45 am to 7:15 pm most days, you’ll find Winnie the Pooh and his friend Tigger meeting guests in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. Disney PhotoPass photographers are on hand to capture the magic. Both characters have also been known to make appearances during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and/or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party so be on the lookout for announcements regarding special meet and greet opportunities for both parties as we get closer to the Fall Season.
2. Head over to 1900 Park Fare for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast – Each morning from 8:00 am – 11:40 am 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian plays host to a range of classic Disney characters during this magical breakfast buffet. Some of the characters on hand include Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter and of course Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. The food is delicious and you’ll find classic breakfast fare including omelettes, mini pancakes, Mickey Waffles, carved ham and our favorite Strawberry Soup! Reservations are recommended and can be made via My Disney Experience or by calling 407.WDW.DINE.
3. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – This classic Disney attraction is a must-do for families visiting with pre-school aged children. Visitors will glide and bounce your way through some of the most popular scenes and settings from Winnie the Pooh as you board a giant Hunny Pot. This ride has everything a Winnie the Pooh fan could hope for from a visit to the Hundred Acre Wood to an encounter with Heffalumps and Woozles. You’ll also get a chance to see Pooh’s whole gang with appearances by Eeyore, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit, Owl and Tigger. The ride also has one of our favorite interactive queues in all of Disney World so don’t worry if there’s a bit of a wait for this popular Fantasyland attraction.
4. Have Breakfast at Crystal Palace – This is the perfect early morning dining option for small-fries. Start your morning off in this beautiful Victorian-themed glasshouse while spending some quality time with Winnie the Pooh and friends. The buffet on offer during breakfast is brimming with favorites including a make-your-own omelette station, fresh baked pastries as well as pancakes and everyone’s favorite- Mickey Waffles! The Crystal Palace’s location at the top of Magic Kingdom’s Main Street makes it a beautiful morning walk and a convenient location to head on over to your favorite Frontierland and Adventureland attractions but it’s the incredible interactions with Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger that make this a breakfast you won’t soon forget. Dining here will set guests back $35 – $59 per adult or 1 Table Service dining credit for those on the Disney dining plan.
5. Head Over to Hundred Acre Goods – You’ll find Winnie the Pooh-themed merchandise throughout Walt Disney World but our favorite go-to spot for all things Pooh and friends is at Hundred Acre Goods next to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride. Here you’ll find a ton of wonderfully themed goodies representing Pooh and friends. They’re even selling classic Pooh and friends plush toys modelled after the characters you’ll see in Christopher Robin. Definitely set aside some money in your Disney budget to pick up a treat or two during your next Magic Kingdom visit.
6. Check out the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade – If you’ll be visiting Disney World in the lead-in to Christmas, and are a Winnie the Pooh fan, it’s definitely worth making a visit to one of Mickey Very Merry Christmas Parties. Winnie the Pooh and friends have been known to make the rounds during party time to greet guests and they also make a wonderful appearance in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. For more information on the other exciting events that take place during party time check out this article.
We hope you’ll be checking out Christopher Robin when it hits theaters on August 3rd. The movie tells the story of an all grown up Christopher Robin who is feeling the sadness of a humdrum life and an uncertain future before his old familiar friends from the Hundred Acre Wood to decide to pay him a visit. Christopher Robin quickly rekindles his friendship with Winnie the Pooh. After an unfortunate mishap with Christopher Robins briefcase, Pooh and the rest of the gang from Hundred Acre Wood step out of the forest and into London to track down his possessions.
