Taste Pandora: A Quick Review of Satu'li Canteen's Lunch Menu

The Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney Worlds Resort takes a lot of pride in their dining options that are available to guests. Through the park, you’ll easily find familiar favorites, exceptional quick service options, and some great ethnically diverse menu options all over. In addition to delicious food, Animal Kingdom offers great dining atmospheres that really make some of the dining stand-out amongst others! Satu’li Canteen is absolutely one of these places, and we recently had the opportunity to stop in for lunch!

Atmosphere

No better place to start, right? First impressions are made once you walk in, and Satu’li Canteen offers a very unique experience to visitors. Seated in the Pandora section of the park – Satu’li carries out the theming of one of the most incredible park additions to Walt Disney World. Satu’li is absolutely a sight to behold and pleasing to the eye! Complete with traditional Na’vi artwork and other nods to the film, this place is about as immersive as restaurants get!

Drinks

If you’re like me, you drink a lot! Regular fluids…people! But there are tons of alcohol options available as well. Pandora inspired draft beers are available along with a ! As well, regular Coca-Cola products, hot tea, hot cocoa, and cold-brew coffee. There’s a little something for everyone in your group.

The lunch menu at Satu’li isn’t as intimidating as one might expect. Complete with an easy-to-read kid’s meal section, its simple to use. Options are clearly stated, and as always…if you’re unsure, ask your server!

Let’s get into the good stuff, shall we? There are a couple of options available to guests. The “Create-Your-Own Satu’li Bow”l is probably the highlight of the menu. Using this option allows you to pick a protein, a base (such as beans or hash), and a sauce for topping. Shrimp, beef, tofu, and chicken are all available as a protein, and each is inspired with a little Pandora flair. Chili-garlic shrimp, slow-roasted sliced grilled beef, or chopped wood-grilled chicken are all incredible options. Can’t decide? That’s fine…order the combination bowl!

As for your base, rice and beans, red and sweet potato hash, lo mein noodles, and salad are all great options. For the protein devourer in your group…we definitely recommend the rice and beans (hearty portion).

Finally, there’s your sauce. Choose from charred green onion vinaigrette, black bean vinaigrette, or creamy herb as a delicious topping.

Other Options

There are several options available for little guests to Pandora as well. Classics like cheeseburgers (as pods), hot dogs, and cheese quesadillas are available for kids on a menu that also includes some of the aforementioned tofu, chicken, and beef options.

As for desserts, options are limited, but chocolate cake and a blueberry-cream cheese mousse round out the menu.

Probably the coolest thing on the menu for kids (and adults too) is the Na’avi Flute Cup. Served with your favorite soda option, or with a couple of different Pandoran drink mixes…it’s sure to be a great souvenir.

Final Thoughts

We ended up choosing a combination bowl of shrimp and steak. In addition, our protein was provided on a bed of lo mein noodles, all topped with the charred green onion vinaigrette. Let me first say that this was probably one of the most filling meals I’ve had for lunch on Disney property. Not to knock other meals or anything. It was just simply a hearty portion that left me completely satisfied.

The unique flavors were crisp, fresh, and a delight. Although I was full about halfway through, I just wanted to keep eating. And I did! It was wonderful, especially given the price! I was more than happy with my selection.

To wash it all down, I freshened-up with a Dreamwalker Sangria. Now, I’m not much for wine or fruity drinks, but this thing was amazing. Not only was it very pretty to look at (Instagram food pic alert), it was refreshing. Served very cold, it really helped alleviate the full belly I had and readied me to continue exploring Pandora.

Satu’li Canteen is a must for any fan visiting the lands in Pandora. From wonderfully themed service to great menu options, you must try it at least once. It’s not only a perfect option for the theming in Pandora but a great option to the already stellar food and drink available at the Animal Kingdom.
