Walt Disney built Disney World on the foundation of family, so you can expect a family-friendly atmosphere as soon as you enter the Walt Disney World Resort. But so many guests, particularly moms, want to make their Disney trips EXTRA magical. What better way to embrace all that is Disney than with some special mother-child bonding time? Here are 8 “Mommy & Me” activities we think will be perfect for your next trip!
1. Perfectly Princess (or Prince) Tea Party
Venture to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a royally enchanting tea party fit for any princess – or prince! Special for children ages 3-9, you and your child will meet “Rose Petal,” a magical rose from Aurora’s garden, who will lead you in sing-alongs, dancing, storytelling, and even a special parade as you sip apple juice “tea” and delight in delectable treats! Plus, Princess Aurora herself will stop in for some pictures and autographs! Admission for 1 guest (age 10 or older) and 1 child will cost $333.64 and will include a special 18-inch Princess Aurora doll dressed in a gown plus accessories; a princess tiara; a silver princess bracelet; a princess necklace; a fresh rose; a special princess sticker page “Best Friend” certificate for her Princess Aurora doll; and a princess cinch bag. 2. Character Interactions
From princesses to Mickey and friends, there are plenty of opportunities to interact with your favorite characters. Disney character meet-and-greets throughout the parks, including princesses like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Ariel, who can be found at Magic Kingdom Park. There are even character meals to enjoy with your little one! Dine with Mickey and friends for lunch and dinner at Minnie’s Seasonal Dine at Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios. Best of all, this fun character crew will be decked out in their very best seasonal wear! Want to dine in the Cinderella’s Castle? Make a reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and rub shoulders with your favorite royal princes and princesses. Remember that character dining experiences book quickly, so you should call 407-WDW-DINE to make reservations beginning 180 days prior to your travel date.
Visit 1 of 4 locations to collect your very own oyster pearl! For around $20.00, your kiddo will select an oyster from a tank, which will be handled by a Disney Cast Member. After a great ceremony that includes a Japanese countdown, the Cast Member will cut open the oyster to reveal your treasure. The best “show” can be found in Japan in Epcot’s World Showcase. This features an energetic Cast Member (from Japan), a banging drum, measurement of the pearl, and an audience standing by as your pearl emerges from the oyster. Pick-a-Pearl locations can also be found at Disney Springs near the Pin Traders outpost, at Typhoon Lagoon, and at the Stormalong Bay pool area at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. The size and color of the pearl will vary based on the oyster. You can also purchase a setting for your pearl, including rings or pendants.
4. Character Makeovers
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Pirates League are the perfect character makeover experiences for your little one to enjoy! Dreaming of the royal lifestyle? Head over to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in either Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs for a full-out princess – or prince – makeover. There are many package options to fit every budget.
